What are YLF's top ten "must haves" for 2012?

I am new to YLF and loving it! I am actually in the fashion industry with little to no fashion experience---imagine that! I've seen a lot of emphasis this last year on "top ten" must have items. What does YLF think about the "top ten" strategy? What are Angie's (YLF) top ten "must haves" for 2012?

I don't have 10 but I would start with a great fitting pair of jeans. A flattering white shirt, a nice leather belt and some good looking boots would be staples. Add a jacket or trench in whatever color looks great on you. A little black dress (or navy), a pair of dressy pants and a pretty necklace and you have a good start.

I am hoping to add a silver skirt to my wardrobe, inspired partly by the Paris fashion shows and partly by my love of sheen. I am also interested in adding some fitted sweaters (jumpers), the right boxy jacket and a bright floral piece.

What I remember of Angie's coverage of the spring 2012 shows was BRIGHT color, and flowing styles. I'll also be waiting for the list!

Yes, I think bright and bold colors and prints, more color blocking, maybe continuation of high-waisted styles and menswear elements.

Hi. First...my "in fashion biz with no experience" introduction. I actually rep a designer and while I do trunk shows for women and their friends in their homes, my main emphasis is in training and development and bring fashion education to our consultant base. What? you ask? How can you educate and train women around fashion without fashion experience? Good question and one that I avoid thinking too much about or it stops me in my tracks...usually made by a great pair of ballet flats! I sort of "fell into" this business and have only just realized that personal style is what truly being fashionable is all about. I am on a journey and thinking my YLF discovery is a serendipitous one!

Hello and welcome!

My predictions for what they're worth:
1. orange (from light to bright- whatever shade tickles your fancy)
2. bold prints (possibly geometric, floral, or tribal)- Personally, I hope to score a blouse and a pair of ballet flats featuring a cool print.
3. dark blues (navy, ink blue, and similar variations)
4. more stripes (this prediction is probably more to do with my recent fascination with them)
5. statement jewelry (I've been on about a four month quest for the perfect statement necklace but haven't found it yet, so now I'm waiting for it to find me.)

I also must have a cross-body bag. I realize that wasn't ten items, but it's all I've been able to gather from internet buzz : )

If you stay around YLF for very long, you will definitely gain some fashion experience! I came last summer, and have been amazed at the knowledge and sharing spirit of everyone here!

For my personal must-haves in Spring/Summer of 2012 (can't predict for fall/winter):

A white cotton blouse
A off-white blazer/jacket
Navy dress skirt
A striped top
Something small with polka-dots
Something orange
Some denim jeans that fit like a glove, NOT bagging out
I'm with Jewell: a statement necklace that goes with most everything
A purple crossbody bag
Some kind of shoes
