What am I (stylistically)?

I've experimented a fair bit these past months, and had some misses, but the below are all outfits that felt very "me" and had a high happiness factor. I think of myself as quite bohemian, but these don't really say that to me; instead they are surprisingly classic. Or perhaps I haven't got the faintest idea what classic actually is. Help me out please. What do you see? (Other than lots of blue - at least I know what my favorite color is!)

Honestly the thing that stands out more than classic or bohemian is your artistic flair. Basics with flair?

Very casual bottoms, classic tops with pops of color. If you switched for trousers you'd be very buisness casual appropriate....

Feminine-artsy-classic ... it's almost like you use a somewhat classic formula (jeans + fitted top/jacket in a relatively muted palette) and then add one good splash of feminine artistic flair to each outfit, e.g. with your scarves, flowy layer and/or water-colory prints. I love it, whatever it's called! You look great! I was going to start saying which were my faves, but I ended up listing them all!

Bohemian girly girl. By girly girl I mean: love of details, sweet, preference for off-beat "cute" accessories, most attention around the face (scarf on neck and in hair, necklace, etc). The bottom seems pretty consistent. Maybe experiment with that? How about another type of footwear, a different fit of pants?

Wow, shevia, torontogirl, krishnidoux, you have really and truly surprised me. I don't think of myself as the slightest bit artistic or feminine - rather I see myself as a scientific tough gal. But of course you are right, those are lots of feminine details I favor, and what I've been calling "bohemian" could just as easily be called artistic (and I sew and bead and crochet, certainly I can call myself creative, if not outright artistic?). My little world is well and truly rocked.

Meli, I am in academia, so I do try for a sort of eccentric business casual look.

Krishnidoux, I used to wear dresses all the time, but the last several years they have really gone by the way side. And for all of December I have been experimenting with non-blue jean bottoms (and posting lots of outfits for feedback), but none of those made this collage of favorites, which is interesting.

Maybe the jeans and casual bottoms are the "grounding" you prefer for the feminine? Or the "science" (especially since they are work-appropriate for you) to the "art" of your jewellery and scarves and sometimes more "artsy" or boho patterns?

I might call you boho or Arty Academichic if looking for a simple moniker.

I am still seeing bohemian in your style. The flowy, printed scarves and tops, beaded jewelry and scarves in your hair all say bohemian to me. It looks like you've mixed in some classic pieces to keep it business casual for work. I am not good with monikers but I see a kind of ethnic, global vibe...like you've traveled the world and brought back tribal jewelry and fabrics??...maybe inspired from your job? I love your style and would love to see you go all out bohemian with boots and dresses.

I'm really bad with monikers. Your color choices seem rather celestial to me, and your choice of jeans and flower shirts makes me think you're very physical and moving constantly in your day to day. I think I'm going to go way out on a limb and say Universe Mover for you.

I mostly chimed in to say that I really like the look on the left in #4. They're all nice, but that one is a stand out to me.

Style monikers always stump me but I will say that I think you need more purple in your wardrobe. You are gorgeous in it!

First of all I hadn't seen (or forgot meanwhile ) the outfit of the skinnies and the polka dot cardigan and am in love with it.You look extra adorable.

Before I saw the comments you remind me of how I used to dress a couple of years back.

I do agree that you look artsy and girly .

I don't remember your non blue jeans outfits but am wondering if the fact that they didn't make your favorites has to do of the strong visual impression that coloured bottoms cause.

The outfits you have here are colorful but made in a very harmonizing way and with color bottoms we tend to go with higher contrasts. Could that be the reason?

This is a really cohesive group of outfits, you look really comfortable with your style. I see casual modern classic pieces, but with a strong artistic element, you are an absolute magician with your scarves!

I see artsy too! I can totally see you throwing on a smock & throwing a pot or something in most of these outfits.

If none of your non jeans outfits made your favourites list, then it sounds like you should embrace denim bottoms as one of your signatures!

The consensus seems to be artsy, bohemian, girly, and casual. I loved Suz's Arty Academichic and Traci's Universe Mover. Thanks so much all, this was really useful and gave me a lot to think about. One definite thing I learned is that I actually do have a fairly defined style and that I should be a little more confident about it!

My first thought was global boho casual It's cool to see everyone is basically seeing a cohesive style; I hope that helps you in your style journey!

I definitely see what a lot of other people see -- boho casual with global, eclectic influences. To me, it also looks like many of the clothes themselves have an unfussy, practical vibe that could look classic or even sporty styled another way, but all of your awesome scarves and jewelry are what really sway the look into boho.
