Small catalogue arrived today from Kettlewell, "Live Life in Color." Looks interesting--I think I've seen that name before.

Looked it up--headquarters is in Chard, Somerset, UK. Hmm.

I check the map, Chard is 9 miles from Puckington. I've been to Puckington--it's where my paternal great-grandfather was from. I suspect I've been to Chard as well.

Lots of colors, reasonable prices.

I've been tempted by a catalogue from Cornwall, Seasalt. I think it's been mentioned here. Cornwall, home of my maternal great-grandfather. I like the look of some of the items.

So, is an ancestral connection to a town enough reason to buy something from a company based in that town?

Sorry about this, but Mr. Maven has bought a high speed scanner and is going through boxes and boxes of old photos and scanning hundreds, soon to be thousands. Looking at myself age 40-something. Should have appreciated what I had then instead of worrying about flaws I'd settle for now.

Oh, I've been to Cornwall as well. Maybe the same trip.
