What a Twisted Classic likes: Paul and Joe

Okay, so after Nanette Lepore, my blogging buddy and I headed next door to Paul and Joe Sister, a fabulous Paris designer that embraces the quirk, kinda like me.

I have always identified as a Twisted Classic, meaning I like classics but done odd, or whimsical, or off the beat.

I could NOT HELP MYSELF on this kitty sweater. I don't care how old I am (49) If I want to wear kitty I'm gonna wear kitty! Since this one was made of beautiful materials and was made in Italy, not China (sorry China this time...) I had to do it. They had it in navy, but I say, if you're going to do whimsical, don't do it half arsed...

Check out the striped blouse: conventional because of the stripe, but twisted because of the embroidered burgundy roses. I love roses so much you cannot even imagine! So this was looooooove.

Everything I tried on today seemed to go with my JCrew manpants (that's what I call 'em) as well as my red Julianne Hough suede ankle straps from Nordies.

You all are so nice, I am so honored to be a part of this amazing community where I do not have to feel ashamed of my passion! I'm gonna cry!

I'm loving the roses and stripes shirt with your leopard belt. With the jeans and fab red heels, you have a great outfit. Not a kitty person but the mad kitty pullover has to make anyone smile.

The belt was purely accidental Joy! I had it on when I came in the store. I kinda like it too. Why not? That kitty thing may be just a moment in my fashion persona, but I'm gonna work it while I'm in.

Both kitty and the stripes and roses are brilliant. I love your twisted classic. If I could, I would... but I am the sort that has to go overboard and would want to wallpaper my house in kitty and stripes and roses. Lol.

Two great choices here!
The kitty sweater is just as fun as can be, and I love the surprise of the embroidered roses on the striped shirt.

I'm curious to hear more about the "man pants"! Which ones are they?

Parsley that pant is a menswear-style pant, new, from JCrew. Forgot what it's called. But its a substantial and nubby sort of grey cotton and lycra mix that is very snug and has a fabulous mid-rise. I just love this pant, along with their new Andie model, which also has a higher rise. The rises on these styles nicely press down my "mommy muffin" -- the stretched out skin from being ravaged by having three children. Plus these pants go well if you like menswear looks, which I do.

That kitty looks quite at home on you! Playful, but styled in a grown-up way, it's an absolute "do!" I'm looking for some true Kate Hepburn (not Audrey) trousers. That's the version of menswear that works on a curvy frame!

Love the shirt, too, and it certainly meshes with your moniker of "Twisted Classic."

Ooh! I must be a twisted classic, too, because I'm in love with both items. The kitty sweater looks amazing on you. Just perfect. And the shirt is a great blend of masculine and feminine.

I have a leopard print belt, too, and I absolutely adore it. I cannot believe how versatile it is. In fact, I'm worried that I might wear mine out before the end of the season.

Parsley yes, those are the exact pants! Try to find them on Ebay. I do that all the time when they are out of my size.

I am waking up to that kitty sweater sort of scared, but I am going to keep wearing it to death so that I don't have regrets. It IS beautifully made and a quality trend item so I might as well enjoy it.

Marley it took balls to buy it in pink when it was offered in navy too! But the cheerleader I brought shopping with me, my blogger friend, was emphatic that if you're going to do whimsy then "balls to the wall" baby!
