western booties: how to wear?

I fell in love with these and bought them in May, but haven't worn them. I thought they would be great with jeans or long flowy skirts, but that ends up looking like I'm playing cowgirl dress-up. With shorts or short skirts, it's too junior a look. With tailored pieces like pencil skirts or trousers, they look wrong. Any suggestions on what to wear them with? Otherwise I will just add them to my Halloween costume collection =(

Cyndie - to me these are a natural with jeans - skinnies, straight legs, or boyfriends, a denim skirt with tights, or with leggings. I don't see them as super-Western at all! Do you cuff your jeans when you try them with these boots? Add a fluid knit top (as opposed to a button-down , which might make it all look too western) and it should look great!

they don't look western to me either, not with the cut of the top, or the heel! They look a bit more moto to me. I would wear them with all kinds of jeans and pants, depending if they are like leggings or skinnies or wider like if you roll them.

What they said! Not really western. You might be most comfortable working out a jeans look first. Agree that a dressier top (as compared to T shirt or button-front as noted) would make the look more grown-up. I don't wear skinnies but that would be a good standard look, I think--or the fluid fit skinny/straight--whatever style is flattering for you and still tucks in. I think the rolled look could work , too if you don't find it schtumpifying. Also this color boot can be fab with light neutrals/winter white-out outfits. I hope you experiment and show us!

Is it the shape of the toe that feels western to you? I have a pair of slouchy boots with a similar toe and they feel western to me even tho they aren't. Even my 3yr old calls them cowboy boots. I think it would be most helpful to me to actually see them styled, but I agree with suggestions from others.

Thanks, ladies! Here are some outfits. The first is what i was trying to do that made me feel like i was ready to go bale some hay. The second is the attempt at white-out, which almost works, but the tucked in jeans just don't work for me. I tried (dark) jeggings, too, which I didn't even take a photo of. But when i rolled the light jeans and added a fluid top, I think I got something that works. Maybe these aren't going in the mistake pile after all!

I do think it is the toe shape that makes them feels like cowboy boots to me. Thanks for pointing that out, too, so I know what to watch out for in the future.

My Miz Moos are western...These just are not...They look like a casual boot that works well with jeans or maybe a denim skirt but these are not cowboy boots...I should post my boots with studs and pull up straps...Enjoy these and I can't wait to see your post with them on...Don't just relegate them to Halloween...smile...

I think those work! I still think you can wear the jeans in #1, just wear a more sophisticated top. The boots look comfortable, so I'd want to make use of versatility.

I think it might be the combination of the relaxed bf jeans and the booties that is throwing you off. Do you have skinny jeans or slim straight cuts to try? They sure are cute booties!

I quit eating soy and lost thirty pounds this year, so my skinnies are baggy. I had just given up on losing weight, too, and had just spent a lot of money on bigger clothes, so I want to comb through my old stuff before I go shopping again. Unless I just happen to see something too cute to leave there. I think i may NEED to go shopping for some skinny/straight jeans though. That is starting to sound like an essential.

Wow, hope you are feeling amazing after cutting the soy. It's crazy to me how little things can hijack the body. Anyway, I think your jeans can still work. Look three is my favorite and is pretty close to what Angie discusses here http://youlookfab.com/2014/09/.....end-jeans/ .

I like them with the white jeans with the rolled cuff! Definitely keep and wear! I bet they'd look great with skinnies too!

I like them but if I wore them with a tee & jeans I'd feel I was ready to bale hay too The third outfit is fab, the top really softens the look.
