More commiserations, Sveta --- though that killer orange dress more than makes up for any silly pair of pants, IMO!
I had a similar day yesterday, and I was only (determinedly, supposedly!) *window*-shopping... I tried on this lovely pair of linen clamdiggers. After pulling them on in my usual size, I could not have bent my leg to save my life. Tried the next size up, fit like a dream all over the leg and hip ---- but the waist was about 4 inches of extra fabric! This when my hips are actually two standard sizes smaller than my waist!!!
So I went shoe-shopping... and found not ONE business-like pair of black shoes with heels. Across about 10 different stores, some of them multi-brand. The wisdom of Firecracker's 'Maybe we just need to think "feet" when we try on those inevitably ill-fitting trousers in the dressing room!' has just hit home. (Firecracker, THANK YOU SO MUCH for that thought!)
I bought three camisoles instead... :-/
