Hehe, I bought a pair of Converse today. Tried them on in DSW (there's a new one right near the Fresh Market where I picked up lunch), even though I'm not wearing the right outfit to judge them properly today. The color I liked wasn't available in my size, so I scanned the barcode to see if they were available elsewhere. Well, it turned out 6pm had them for less than half the price of DSW, so I went for it!

Cool! I guess I used to be anti-Converse. For an athletic shoe, they're not that cushiony or supportive. But now I'm pro-Converse and have at least 3 pairs plus Converse boots(!) Knew this girl with a minimalist aesthetic. She wore them as office-dress and was stylin'. Changed my mind.

Patty, I have the ShopSavvy app on my iPhone -- I just downloaded it this week, and it's already saved me $25!

I loved the tongue too. I tried on basic grey, and grey with a little turquoise tongue, but I really liked the plum color the best, with the tongue. There's a snap on the side of the shoe, so you can secure the tongue and it doesn't flap around.

Such fun shoes. When I was young I think it was hard to find anything but the higher basketball style. This shoe is much more versatile.

I love them and I am sure they will look good on you. When I was younger (in the interim between their former popularity and the teenage lemmings getting ahold of them) I had 4 pair. Mine were all high top because I couldn't keep the lower profile ones on my high arched feet. They were great-- however, as I got older I couldn't comfortably wear them anymore. I now am a Jack Purcell fan, because they give a similar look but have a cushiony and removable athletic insole. I don't currently have a pair though. I find that they are a great casual sandal substitute in climates that have a lot of warm but-not-hot months. Good for running errands with a dress or straight leg jeans or for touring. The jack purcells don't come in as many fun colors and options though--- no more skull shoes for me : (

Thanks for the encouragement! I'm looking forward to trying them. They are very comfy. I'm envisioning them with straight or skinny jeans and casual tops and jackets for days when I'm on my feet a lot. I had worries at first that they might not be "age appropriate" but I just don't care that much about that.

As if I need more shoes. But at that price, I couldn't resist!

I can't believe I wear mine as much as I do. My eyes really have adjusted to them and I really like the young, funky, boyish vibe. I cannot wait to see them on you!! They will be SO cute!
