Okay so this probably sounds funny to some but I have this little "trick" I use for online shopping and I thought I'd share. I live far from urban shopping so online is about 100% of my shopping. I keep a mirror in my office that I can reach. If I see some clothing or accessory item online that I'm unsure of, it helps me to bring the mirror over to my monitor and look at myself with the item's image also visible on the screen. Sometimes I zoom in on the item if the site offers it.

Often I find myself really interested in something, then as soon as I do my mirror trick I figure out that it just wouldn't suit my coloring or my style, etc. Saves some returns and keeps me on course.
