The brand Pleaser is for strippers, prostitutes, and people who hang out at swingers resorts and are into fetish wear and kink. These are not "going out" or "leaving the bedroom/curb/stage" shoes.
This design isn't new either. I have posted about this before but will again: You'll find an even more exaggerated version in this book about shoes whose title escapes me for the moment--it's something of astonishing originality, like...."Shoes."
Anyway, there is a chapter called "shoes of scandal" and they show a version very much like these, only the heel extends beyond the tip of the boot. They were Victorian, I think. I recall the blurb went something like: "At once crippling the wearer into submission, but also providing her with a formidable weapon."
Clearly that paragraph and image have been burned into my mind forever...
