OMG, that child! I thought this was a good episode (more consistent editing) and the humor of the murder case made up for the horror of Annie's situation.... And of course, EH and Corky hooking up - my husband was nearly asleep at that point, and I kicked him awake!

There is NO way the boxing could have gone on that long, though.

My husband said the same thing abou the boxing. That whole scene made me cringe.

The Corky and EH hookup had me pondering the underwear of the time -- they were awfully spontaneous, I would think there'd be all kinds of pantaloons etc in the way! And I wonder if EH was a virgin . . . her husband preferred little girls!

Poor Annie. She needs a good child psychologist, but I suppose those didn't exist back then.

The Annie scenes were so hard to watch. So disturbing.

Okay, I am confused. The ledger. I thought Corky was desperate to find the ledger for clues to his missing wife. When Francis told him the abortionist's sister had the ledger, Corky didn't seem that interested. Weird!

And boy, I take back what I said about EH being a virgin! These people move fast and furiously!

Wait, we thought Francis specifically DIDN'T tell him about the ledger - he told him Mary had left the country with another man. Did I miss something? And is anyone ever going to figure out that Eva killed Molly?

DH and I had a big debate about how violent Corky got with EH over Annie - I thought he was out of control, DH felt it was wrong but justified (well, he is Irish! too!).

Annie's story is disturbing. I'm wondering how they film those scenes or if she's older than she looks. I'm so glad she killed that guy, even though she's an ambiguous character herself.

I just asked my husband, and he also said Francis did not tell Corky about the ledger. Not sure how I made that leap.

And my husband thought Corky was totally out of control when he held the knife to her throat. I said EH was lucky it wasn't Eva! I am nervous about next week's episode after all the foreshadowing of racial violence. I love the doctor and his wife.

My life feels so calm after watching Copper!

Francis does seem suspicious about Molly's death, but there are no witnesses, right?

I just realized I am one episode behind, so I am still on the fight episode, which could not have gone that long.
When EH and Corky 'hook up' I was almost shouting to the TV 'she just gave Annie to a man that clearly is not her father and she is lying to you , you unbelievably dense man!!!'

So I am curious to see how angry he will be when he discovers.

Didn't get to watch so not looking yet - we are watching tonight. Can't believe we forgot! We were watching a friend's kid and somehow just spaced it out, but thankfully have it on permanent DVR. Will check back tomorrow.

Ooh, glad to see this topic. I did not expect the 'twist' at the end of Sunday's show. It almost seems like they're throwing too many twists into the plot, you know?

I hope the kid who's playing Annie is well-adjusted IRL, because all of her scenes recently just make me shudder when I watch them. Very powerful stuff. As someone very into history I really appreciate historical drama that doesn't pull its punches and turn everything into an Austen movie, but that doesn't mean it's fun to watch all the discrimination, messed up childhoods and violence that is accurately portrayed in this show.

Okay, am caught up! I thought the wife was alive but I didn't expect her to turn up so soon, since her disappearance (and McGuire's involvement) is such a major plot thread. What a sad ending to the episode.

My DH thinks Elizabeth is secretly a Confederate sympathizer. His favorite character is the other cop whose married to the crazy chick.

I spend every show dreading that something will happen to Sarah. Laura, so glad you're watching too - and yes, Annie is very disturbing!

In Canada because of thanksgiving weekend they decided to go back 2 episodes,so this weekend I am sucked with the same poisoned cake again

Not at all Alicat. I do enjoy to know that Annie is still alive, however annoying she is at times and that Cooper's wife is alive because I have high hopes that his relationship with Elizabeth will go wrong.

Wow, we just watched the latest episode. Where does the show go from here? They just solved all the mysteries. The storytelling pace is feeling very hectic!

hey, finally watched last night! DH and I got into a big argument about whether he should have been so angry with his wife (he said yes, i said no)... Interesting debate. What did you think? And why did Eva kill Molly?

There's still the doctor and his wife, and the whole John Wilkes Booth sub-plot (I think DH was right about EH being a Confederate sympathizer). Which episode are we on now in the season?

Una, I thought Corky was out of line to get so angry -- she was just coming out of a coma! We've been seeing a lot of his temper lately.

Here's what I find hard to believe: that nobody spilled the beans to Corky about Francis and Corky's wife. Men can gossip just as much as women, and all the men at the police station must have known what was going on. And nobody told Corky?

I think Eva killed Molly simply because she was jealous that Molly and Corky hooked up. Is there more to it?

A bit annoyed here.My tv channel though it was a great idea to go back two episodes because of thanksgiving weekend and then pass from the poison pie episode to the one when Corky finds his wife at the asylum.
Francis is a very shady character, don't know what to think about him anymore.

Alicat, we finally watched the season finale last night... sounds like there is going to be another season. My DH is really into it now, and was pleased with himself for figuring out EH's leanings. Phew! Looks like Corky is going to become an addict too.
