weekend in chicago

Spending a girlfriends' weekend in Chicago -- all 60-plus retirees. No idea what to wear. Just casual. Can I wear my black cotton cropped wide leg pants (Target A New Day - 2 years old! ...or is it 3? :0 )? If so, how do I layer them for the windy city and unpredictable weather mid May?

I'm willing to buy a few pieces to layer, but I don't know WHAT. Short denim jacket? Something else? For Saturday, we will be touring, going to early dinner and SC show.

Also, can I wear my white cross trainers? (I have AWFUL feet.) TIA!

Chicago is almost always colder than planned due to the wind. Be able to be cosy. Across the Midwest well fitting jeans and a simple top and blazer are nearly always stylish. Wear any shoes that keep your feet happy. That is more important than looking stylish.

I live several hours north of Chicago and it usually is pretty chilly, but today it is 78 and it looks like over the weekend it is going to be in the 70s and some rain. . IT IS WINDY! Agree with Joy bring a vest that can go under your jacket and some type of rain gear.

Do you know what the temperatures are going to be like when you're there? You can see that on accuweather. com - it will give you a good idea!

I have been to Chicago twice. It was hot, humid, and not windy. Once in Spring and once on Summer. So yes - unpredictable!

Can you provide a link to your cross trainers, perhaps?

Places that are musts in and around Chicago are zoos and the EF outlet store in a Western suburb. Go out to eat and ride the El downtown to walk around.
