Thanks so much for all the suggestions, comments, therapy, etc on my first post on this topic. I think I am almost sorted!
This silk EF set is a hand-me-down from a SIL. I never wore it and as recently as a couple of weeks ago, it was just too snug to consider.
However, after thinking about the wish list I articulated in a response to JenniNZ on my earlier wedding thread, I decided to give it one more shot. Still a WEE bit snug, but two more weeks will address that. I just need to have the pants hemmed and I think I tick all my boxes:
- Sleeveless, so gives me that coolness factor if there is dancing
- Pants will look more deliberate with either black oxfords or these new patent loafers if I can figure out how to keep them on my feet.
- "Wedding appropriate" (It is silk and EF -- need I say more?)
- Because of its simplicity, almost any topper and accessories will work with it.
- It feels like "me"
- And, although this wasn't a driving consideration, other than the cost of alterations, this is a free outfit.
For fun, I do also show it here with a little lurex top I rather liked the neckline of, but I suspect I will stick to the matched set.
Additional questions for anyone who has thoughts:
- what length for the pants?
- how to keep those patent loafers on my heels? They actually feel okay on the front part of my foot (I did size up a bit) and I would keep them if I could keep them on. Otherwise, I will get black oxfords. (I will keep the burgundy I have on order as they were a great price and will be a good office shoe if ever needed again, and just a good non black, non sneaker shoe option in general.)
Thanks for looking. All comments and suggestions welcome.
