So because I am me and probably also crazy, I have decided that i want to knit myself a shawl for my upcoming wedding. I have already picked the pattern (#1 below, it is Niebling's Lyra for the knitters among you - I will probably be doing 5/8 of the circle rather than a full circle because it's easier to wear). I am still trying to decide on a color. I have purchased a plum colored yarn (#2 below), which is beautiful and also one of my wedding colors. However, a part of me wants to do it in white or cream for the real wedding shawl look. I wonder if the lace shawl in white will be too much with my white, layered dress though. I think the plum would also be more reusable for future events. What do you think? I would probably not wear it for the ceremony but only for the reception, if that matters.
