Hello, so I'm going to a wedding. And I have a problem.

Problem #1

I have found a perfect dress but the only problem is that the dress is WHITE. I was thinking of wearing crazy pumps and bag with this dress to make it work.

What do u think? If this does not work, I have one more dress as an alternative.

Problem #2

The other dress is pale yellow-white combo. So my question is: can I wear the pale yellow-white dress with these pumps.

You know better than we do what the cultural norms are where you live. If it's inappropriate to wear white to a wedding you have to decide if you're ok challenging that and the fallout and negative attention you may get because of it. I assume that's why you hesitate wearing the white dress but you didn't really say why.

Just throwing this out there: Could your white dress be dyed a different color?

I really like the pale yellow-white dress but am not sure the shoes would look right with it.

Honestly in my view both of these dresses are too white to wear to a wedding. If you must wear the yellow and white dress, then I think the pumps would be cute with it.

But really, find yourself a not-so-white dress for weddings.

The yellow and white dress with the pumps! They have yellow and you could carry a blue clutch or wear sapphire earrings although I don't think that you need to repeat the blue.

I don't have issues with wearing white at weddings as long as you aren't competing for attention. Between it being all white and tight, it is an attention grabber and in my opinion inappropriate for a wedding.

The second dress is gorgeous and I think would be beautiful at a springtime wedding where other people would be wearing lighter colors. However, for a fall wedding (not sure where you live, though) where others may be in more autumn colors, it might be too attention getting. Not sure what the colors of the bridal party are, but you wouldn't want to be dressed too much like them either.

To be blunt, it's not your day. Don't stand out.

I think the yellow dress is very pretty and would be fine with the shoes. It really depends on the individual wedding on whether or not something like this would be appropriate. I've worn a white background dress that has lots of green, blue and black patterning on it to weddings, but in all cases the bride was in a poufy long gown and the bridesmaids were in black.

It will really depend on where you live, the location of the ceremony (religious or not) and the level of formality of the wedding. In the US, white is generally reserved for the bride and generally, body-con dresses are not appropriate so as not to distract from the bride and groom.

I know this doesn't answer your specific question. If you lived in my city, the white would not be appropriate and the yellow with those pumps might work for some weddings - perhaps a late-afternoon or evening semi-formal wedding.

Thank you for your response. Well I really like the yellow one, but I can wear something else, it's just those pumps, they are so stunning...can u tell me what color could I pair with them, except white...cuz I have no idea.

Colors with the pumps: pink, magenta, silver, grey, olive, pale blue, pale yellow. That ought to get you started.

I'd look for a single color, not patterned.

Yellow and white. White is undesirable on every front I can think of - from it being the non-colour for the neo-Victorian bride to being a colour for funerals in oriental cultures... The yellow and white, btw, I think is stunning.

I like the yellow and white. And LOVE the shoes. Would you consider finding another dress (maybe a more subdued one?) to feature the shoes? Oh, those shoes!!!!

Yellow and white with the pumps. The white dress looks exactly like my sister in laws wedding dress !
I wore a cream lace shift dress to a wedding last year. It was a huge wedding so I could get lost in the crowd so to speak. It was a good friends son who was getting married and I checked with her first. I felt fine in it but I went to three wedding's this summer and I decided against wearing it . I just thought about it more and couldn't do it, plus I didn't know the families's as intimately as I had done for last years wedding.
