I promised to post a few pictures from my stepson's wedding. In the eleventh hour they asked me to perform the "official" photographer's role. Ummm....let's just say that I could have used Ali's brother's tips before this! I am sadly ignorant and these pictures are not posed at all. They were Skyping to Germany during the ceremony so were more focused on getting reception there than they were on photos. So these are very rough. Not even as good as my usual snapshots, I fear.

At the last minute, I decided to wear the David Meister dress instead of my trousers and jacket. I don't know why. I stared into the closet. It spoke to me. I listened.

I wore it with nude hose and the Pliner booties. (Sveta, thank you!) It may have been leg-stumpifying; in fact, I am sure it was leg-stumpifying, but the outfit felt more current than with my dark pumps, and the gold sling backs just would not stay on with hose and felt way too uncomfortable.

Let me tell you, that dress is a PERFORMER, and if I ever get a chance to buy another David Meister dress I will be lining up for it. It was comfortable, classy, and super easy to wear. Plus, that night was very cold, with snow. The dress has sleeves!! Oh, the joys of not needing another layer even in nasty weather.

The bride wore her tuxedo shirt dress -- WITH shoes and hose in deference to the weather realities. The groom wore a white shirt, silver tie, and dark pants. The daughter of the bride (aged 10) wore patterned tights, a silky tunic top, a fake fur vest, and accessories. My DD wore her "suit" - GAP Perfect Trousers, my handed-down Hobbs crepe jacket, a GAP shirt, her dad's tie. Sister of the groom wore my former tunic! (The Simpli teal one with the draping that didn't suit me so well; luckily, it's perfect for her and the colour matches her extraordinary eyes.) Mother of the groom wore a lilac lace sheath, and mother of the bride wore a black draped jersey dress.

The bride is a florist by profession and brought her own flowers. Her colleagues made them for her; she gave them no instructions other than to say there would be a yellow tablecloth in one room.

Lots of pics: here's a legend.
