Latest in the wedding outfit saga!!
Even though Angie likes it, I have really gone off the jacket (pic 2) I got to to with my dress and I think I'll send it back.

I am trying out an off white cardi I already own in pics 3-5 (please try to look past my horrendous posture and my DD4's photography) I don't much like this - too long.

Am thinking about either trying to find a white denim jacket (one of Suz's early suggestions) at the last minute or reverting back to a shaw1 (pic 1). And all this is only if it gets cold anyway - I may not have to wear it all all.

The dress is lovely but I don't think the white cardi hits the right note at all! I LOVE the white tuxedo jacket in photo 2, but if you don't like it then I'd go with the wrap in photo 1.

I completely agree with Mary.
I love the white jacket with the dress and I think that the cardigan would be a huge mistake.
The pink shawl is fine, but the jacket really is best of all.

Anne, what is it that you don't like about the jacket?
It does look really, really good with the dress, so please don't make any hasty decisions!
If it is the 'dressiness' of the jacket please reconsider- you would be surprised how this could be given a more casual feel when paired with jeans or other pants for later wear.
I agree with Mary re. the cardigan, lets see what others think.

I'm not overly keen on the jacket with that dress, but I'm even less enthused about the sweater. I think the shawl is reasonably workable esp. if you think you may not even need a wrap.

Anne, I think that the cardigan in combination with the dress loses the sophistication and polish of the dress on its own, or with the tuxedo jacket topper (which I quite like.)
The cap sleeves of the cardigan and the clean lines really fight with the cut and texture of the dress, and make it look kind of juvenile, when the dress itself is quite pretty and really flattering to your lithe figure.
If you don't go for the tuxedo jacket, I think that a shawl is your best bet.

I absolutely agree with Lyn. This jacket looks so stunning over the dress. The cardigan doesn't work and the wrap doesn't do the dress justice.

What don't you like about the jacket anne? I agree with the others it looks great, but if you don't like it don't keep it. Are you feeling like it is too dressy?

I have to agree with the other comments here, Anne. I love the tuxedo jacket with your beautiful dress, it's modern and has the same level of "dressiness" as the frock. The cardi feels too casual with it, plus I think it's fighting with the neckline (strap) of your dress. A shawl might work too, but I'm not entirely convinced of the pink in combo with the blue here, plus it hides all the fab details of your dress.
I'm a little worried that a white denim jacket would pose the same problem as the cardi: not exactly right for this dress for this occasion?

My favorite is the tuxedo on 2! Gorgeous!
1 is a bit dated and the cardi doesn't macth!

I totally agree that the cardi doesn't work.

I had a comment on the jacket from my BIL (just from a picture) and I guess that made me second guess it. And I am not used to the drape front. But it is really too late to order anything else since the wedding is on saturaday!

Anne, wear the white tuxedo jacket, it is above and beyond the other choices. Who do you trust when it comes to style, Angie or BIL? I'd go with Angie

I'm not even looking at the other responses yet. Please reconsider keeping the jacket! I think the cardi looks too casual, and I don't care for the shawl with this dress either. The jacket looks polished and appropriate, and I love that when you take it off, we get the surprise of that sublime shoulder detail on you.

ETA: Oh good. I just read the rest of the thread -- glad everyone else thought the same thing I did! I think you look wonderful, and I hope you have a great time!

Anne, I *much* prefer the jacket!! And you know I was slightly doubtful about the jacket to begin with, so you should take that as a huge vote of confidence. I like the jacket in itself but worried that the drape front fought a bit with the ruffle on the dress. Seeing it here, I feel that is fights LESS with the ruffle than the other options do, and it is much more sophisticated. I think a denim jacket would be too casual (yes, I know, it was me who suggested it first, but never mind that) and this is much, much better. So go, and look gorgeous!
