Hi all, hope everyone is feeling OK after celebrations. Sorry to hear about your husband’s trip to hospital Jenn.
Yesterday being the day after Christmas here, I spent a few minutes trying on my new dress. It was bought in a Black Friday sale- I had been thinking of buying it anyway but was delayed by circumstances and the timing just worked out for $100 off!
The plan is to wear this as a Western guest at the cross-cultural wedding 3 June next year in Canada.

Pic 2 with vintage Thai silk blouse I am wondering about wearing as a jacket
Pics 3-5 options of shawls as suggested by Zaeobi as options in case needed to wear as coverage for Indian culture?
These are 3 I already own. Which is best? I am not sure about the pattern mixing.
Pic 6 close-up of my proposed Swarovski jewellery
Pic 7 another option for jewellery- my mother’s “opal” (fake) necklace.
Which do you like?
Also, I had this hankering for fuchsia shoes that matched the blouse, but the 2 I ordered from Styletread came all the way from Melbourne, and sadly I had to return both. This is unusual for my online shoe shopping and puts me off
And I wonder if the paler sandals I already own look better anyway?? Thoughts? Thanks for looking.

Jenni, love your dress! I like it with a silk blouse worn as a light jacket - beautiful color combination and dramatic sleeves. When it comes to jewelry, I must admit I’m not found of sets. I would rather look for longer pair of earrings.

Yes to #2. That (on trend) pink looks fabulous! I think you should wear a pair of bright coloured sandals that pick up one of the colours in the dress, but don’t match the Thai topper. Don’t you have orange sandals? Grass green would be fab, too!

Love the dress on you! I prefer the shawl in #5and the jewelry in #6. But wear what makes you happiest.

The dress is sooooo pretty! PERFECT for a June wedding. I love it with the silk "jacket" (such drama and presence to that!) and also like it with the shawl in #2.

(Love the idea of fuchsia shoes, too, but alas...maybe another pair will turn up in time.)

Because the pattern of the dress is so distinctive and vibrant, I feel as if simpler jewellery with cleaner lines might work better than either of these options. And I might go with one or the other -- earrings or a necklace. If necklace, then tiny stud earrings to fill the holes, maybe in one of the colours of the dress?

The dress is so pretty. I find the bright pink in the blouse to be maybe too strong for the dress colours, and the pink wraps seem to add too much pattern to a pattern.
Perhaps match a plain pale pink or pick up a pale lilac shawl and sandals?
I like the earrings as a sparkle next to the silver, and maybe not fill the neckline, which looks very good on you as is.

Very pretty dress! Love the floral pattern. Maybe try it with a cotton or linen summer blazer. Keep the jewelry simple and let the dress shine

Jenni, what a pretty dress! I like Nikki's idea of keeping the blazer/topper, jewellery and shoes simple so that the dress is the focus. But going with the blouse and colourful shoes would look good too. I would wear interesting earrings and skip the necklace.

Lots of good thoughts! I think I am liking the silver shawl out of the 3 shawl options, as Elle likes best. It was actually bought as an option for my daughter’s wedding in 2019 but I finished up wearing the cobalt geometric one I had already with my plain cobalt dress. I could add the silver over the pink blouse if I need a shawl. And I have 2 silver clutch bags to choose from.
Thank you for your idea Nikki- I don’t own such a blazer currently.
Thanks Runcarla I do have orange and green sandals although not sure about such bold mixing.
If I do wear the pink blouse, I don’t think the Swarovski necklace is needed with that neckline.

I also the idea of the bright pink blouse balanced by another strong bright color with the shoes. Very pretty dress on you!

Thanks Jaime I would need to get used to the idea of bold colour mixing!
I might try the green sandals. I feel orange or red may be a bridge too far for me with the hot pink

If you can find fuchsia ones to satisfy your "matchy" gene then go for it -- you know you will wear them, eventually. Fun footwear rarely goes to waste in your closet! But I can see another bright also, and if the wedding will be an Indian one (in part) then many of the guests will be wearing lots of colour and you will fit right in! If you think you'd wear one of those brights during the rest of the holiday, why not bring it along?

It's really tough to predict weather that time of year...it's probably spring in Saskatchewan, but with climate chaos, all bets are off, honestly.

My favourite is # 4 - the solid pale pink shawl. I prefer the green jewelry with this dress and I like the sandals.

Great dress! I like the solid light pink most with it too, and the opal jewelry. I'd personally like the blouse in #2 more over a simpler dress- or with white trousers.

What a pretty dress! So many colors! I like the first 2 shawls and the silk blouse as toppers and the opal jewelry. Your sandals look ok, unless you want new ones.

I think if you're wearing a topper, there's no need for a shawl - you'll be covered (both literally & figuratively, lol!) If you do go for one though, I like the middle shawl (the softly ombre pink to orange shades).

I'm liking the idea of the hot pink jacket with the orange shoes. Agree that you don't need too much jewelry with such a fab look already! But I'd have to see them worn with the topper's neckline to decide.

Ha to RobinF! I think everyone has indeed liked every possible combination!
I will end up doing what feels right at the time I think. I should probably not buy new sandals but Suz is correct I do eventually wear the fun ones. Those silver ones in the pic were bought for daughter’s wedding 2019 and being more formal have only had 5 wears… so if I get fuchsia ones they ought to be less so unless I can keep them for 10 years like the last pink ones ( which got loose on my foot with weight loss and were a bit high).
After everyone’s thoughts I do also like the soft ombré pink/orange shawl as well…

It’s a gorgeous dress and my vote is for the pink silk jacket first and the ombré shawl second. The shoes you are wearing look good, but I do like the idea of fuchsia shoes to match your jacket if the right ones find you!

Gorgeous dress and sandals, WoW! Love the styling of the dress with the 2x shawls in nr 4&5 (depending the vibe you will feel that day-more color or more neutral) but don't feel you absolutely need the necklace-as you wear those statement earings and specs so well-and is so very elegant. Since wearing specs (and short hair) I often feel a short statement necklace is shadowing all the advantages of a clean V neck on me but it is surely all up to you and how you feel wearing the set together.
