Wedding guest attire?

I've bought a slightly dark teal color swing type dress that is calve length, I wanted to wear it to a wedding this summer but is dark teal too dark?

I don't think so. I may be wearing a navy dress to a family wedding in August. I think a lot depends on the style and the fabric. If it is a summery fabric, fine.

I don't think there's a right or wrong here...just personal preference.

I tend to strongly associate colors with seasons, so I have a hard time wearing teal in sweltering heat. I just feel too hot in it. But that's totally a personal quirk. If you feel comfortable and the fabric and cut are suitable for summer where you are, enjoy!

I think the setting of the wedding might also play a role. For example, I'd have no problem wearing it for an evening wedding or an indoor one, but it might be a little dark for a beach wedding for me. In general though, I don't think teal would be too dark for most weddings if the fabric isn't too heavy for summer.

I have such trouble with dresses that it could be a miracle for all the planets to align. I agree with the comments on seasonal fabric and style. If those are on track, and it's a good color for you, I would think that with summery, lighter accessories it would be just fine.
