Hi folks,

I'm attending my step son's wedding next Saturday and am thinking of wearing this dress which I bought a couple of years ago and have never worn ...

but thought it might all be a bit too many florals - especially as the bag will be near the top.

What do you think ... yay or nay

Would a navy clutch & fascinator/hat be a better idea? Other suggestions more than welcome.

I think a solid clutch would work better. Do you have one that is a similar color to the florals in your shoes or dress top?

I agree with Kristin that swapping out the clutch (or actually shoes would be my first preference) for something solid might be better... it's a pretty dress!

the shoes and dress will be just the right amount of floral repeat! That will look great. How about a sparkly bag?

Certainly a solid bag would be a safer choice. But I am a rebel rebel and I might well go all floral! Would love to see a photo of it all together!

In theory it seems like it should be too much, but I kind of like having all the florals repeat like that. I think that it's balanced by the fact that the dress is mostly solid. But I'd skip the hat/fascinator and wear either simple dangly earrings (hoops?) or a delicate necklace, myself.

You know, I think this comes down to personal taste. Pattern mixing is all the rage right now, so you are definitely on trend. I am a bit more conservative, so this is approaching my tolerance limit for myself. Each of these pieces is gorgeous on its own, that's for sure, and they look wonderful on you. So the real question is: are you comfortable, even happy with the combination? Some people will love it, and some won't. If that thought makes you uncomfortable, you should definitely cut out at least one of these in favour of a solid colour, or perhaps a subdued tone on tone.

You are breaking the rules the conservative people adhere to and following the rules the trendy people adhere to. Where are you most comfortable?
