This outfit shows that when I wear white, even in a top, I end up having to temper it (here with a patterned scarf)! LOL

This is a very basic outfit worn last night to judge a camera club competition. I wanted to give my light/white items some play, as I’m experimenting with them more for winter. It’s just Paige jeans and a simple but nicely textured BR cream sweater from a few years ago. It would be boring on its own, so I added the textured Modern Vice blue booties and the metallic-accented butterfly scarf for a little more interest.

Grabbed an old Cynthia Rowley bag that I love but had put away for a few years. I like that it incorporates some navy blue, and I love the shape (which has gone out of trend but has always been a personal favorite), and texture. Unfortunately, the metal clasp holding the shoulder strap broke right when I got out of my car last night upon my return home, so I think I’ll take it to the cobbler to see if he can replace that piece.

I’m realizing that I can be pretty content with a simple ensemble of jeans and a basic top if I incorporate interesting footwear and accessories. I’m thinking about doing a deep closet edit and really focusing my future purchases on signature items that may be pricey but are truly *me* (the Alexander Wang Kori boots are a good example), and really taking more care not to add too much fluff in the way of cheaper, trendier items unless they really, really resonate with me. I’ll be musing this more and may post more later.
