I may possibly wear tights with peephole shoes but no other type of open toed shoes. I have a tendency to make holes in my tights really quickly.

Wow this is a great site! I was just thinking that I'd like to start wearing my black sandals that are similar to these (wedge sole and no zipper) but it's really not warm enough yet. They might work with black tights especially with pants. Thanks for the pointer!

I am drawn to this look, in fact may experiment soon. I love it with a T bar sandal and fishnets or bold opaques. It has to be deliberate looking, to my mind, to make it work.

I like the idea, but it really matters what shoes you do this with. It's got to look intentional and funky. One false move away from super-frump, if you know what I mean. I like it with contrast tights and fishnets, and with not much going on in terms of straps and cut-outs on the vamp of the shoe.

I agree there has to be enough contrast to make it look intentional. Additionally, the shoes need to be sturdy enough to stand up to the tights, so no thin and strappy sandals in my mind.

Well obviously I've done this as you can see in my avatar. I only tried it with my cage sandals. I love the look with peeptoes but I don't know when I would wear it. I don't get out for date nights that often and I don't think it's a work look. Hopefully some fun occasion will come up when I can try it again.

I'm going further out on that particular limb and saying that if you're over 50, you're only one-half a false move away from super-frump when you try out this look.

Fortunately, with these genius tips in hand, that false move gets a lot harder to make. Thanks for posting this, Roxanna -- over-50 here feeling grateful.
