This was a gift from a friend who occasionally brings me these tops from India. I love the light, drapey silk. But yellow is not my best color. I tried this on the other day and my husband liked it. Should I just keep it to around-the-house wear, or try it with leggings out and about? If it should be allowed to leave the house, any styling suggestions?

Half tuck and light wash boyfriend jeans, white cami underneath, gold or metallic sandals and belt.

Maybe try it with white capris? Skinny jeans? Gladiator sandals? Cute flats?
I would be wearing it out in public - I predict you will get lots of compliments!

I think it looks good on you. zap and krista have good suggestions. Or as you are wearing it, it would be great for that ultra casual day when you are just popping in to the grocery store and dry cleaners type thing.

white pantss would be the way to go. perfect summer kurti!! some gold hoops or ethnic small chandelier type earrings would be awesome too!

I think it looks great on you. It is a beautiful top. I would pair it with white jeans as well as blue denim. I would wear it with bootcuts because that is my favorite style of jean, but it would look good with skinnies, capris, boyfriends as well.

Yes, you should wear it outside of the house. It looks great on you! I think it could go with leggings or light-dark denim.

I used to have so many of these kurtis! Not anymore, too light for my weather. White bottoms or jeans and you are good to go. You don't look bad in yellow at all, and that is a hard color to pull off. That particular style of silk kurtis are often pastel and wash me out horribly.

I think it looks lovely on you! Great styling suggestions above. Could also try over silky pants/shorts, BF jeans rolled up with wedge/heeled sandals, over a pencil skirt, semi-tucked into denim clams (I vote colored, or even the floral ones you might cut up), with slim printed pants....

I love that yellow with your dark hair. As a fellow "I can't wear yellow", I was surprised at all the compliments that I got when I recently wore a yellow and white silk dress. Sometimes the fabric--silk vs. cotton vs. knit--can make quite a difference.
