Wear or donate part 2: old knit wrap tops

This is a continuation of my previous post, this time with knitted wrap tops. The questions are whether they are current enough to wear them again and if yes, with what types of bottoms.

The first three tops are all by DVF and I love them. I do not want to get rid of them and am just trying to figure out the best bottoms.
#4 is a teal wrap with billowy sleeves and little peplum at the bottom that I am also quite fond of. The rest are a simple navy (#5), a rosey-taupe wrap cardigan (#6) and drape-y black jersey (# 7) that I am much less attached to.

Oh, those DVFs are gorgeous. Absolutely keep. I am not sure what to suggest for bottoms, but I'd be tempted to try skirts or flared trousers. The trouble is, you don't want to be dealing with belt loops and zips in the pants.

The others all look good on you, but how many can you wear/ do you need? I guess that would be my litmus test. Do I have appropriate bottoms to make any of these current, or not? If so, then wear away. If not, then maybe let them go.

Thanks Suz, I Much appreciate your input. That is exactly what I am trying to figure out, what are the appropriate bottoms to make wrap tops feel current.

1-3 are all fabulous! #2 is my absolute favorite. To Suz's point, lumpy pants under any of these would kill the beautiful shape. These bootcut jeggings from Boston Proper are insanely comfortable and flattering. They're very high waisted on me, so I would think any of the first 3 tops would cover the waistband fine.

I really like the DVF ones. The others are not as special, to my eye. I like the teal color on you, but the gathered sleeves look a little short to me.

Also love the first patterned tops. The one I'm most unsure about is #6 because of the color on you and it looks the most worn (although that might be just storage wrinkles). The navy and black would be most useful of the later set in my closet, but do you have tops in the same colors that are similar shapes that you like more? If so, I'd let them go. Does the teal work with pushed up sleeves?

They are all still wearable IMO. But you need higher rise pants/jeans, either skinny or a fuller type leg. On higher rise pants the pocket placement differs, creating a cleaner looking front. That will update these tops I think.

Also, the tops might work with culottes or a full midi skirt. Would have to try on to see if they work.

I was going to say boot cut or flared trousers to be current. I have wrap top envy as these look so good on you and I can't wear them. What about wearing them with tube skirts? I suppose they are still current and they are quite flat at the waist

Ditto that these call for high waist minimalism. I like the darker colors better, 2, 3 and I like the black for having more substance so it gib move a slight volume- over - slim look even though it is a wrap.

Love the first three! My least favourite is the navy #5 - nothing wrong with it, but in comparison with the other it looks like the most simple one. No help with bottoms though, but I see the others have made some good comments! Good luck!

You wear this style of top to perfection! I would hang on to 1-4, even if you don't wear them (much) this year, they are too beautiful on you to discard. I can picture you in a flowing skirt with these...don't you do some dancing?

Yes the first three are stunning. I also think the navy one is lovely on you. And the teal is also very good. I vote pass on the taupe and the black.

I think wide leg/ flares will look great, or midi skirts, or maybe the right pair of shorts,?

The DVF ones are a gorgeous shape on you!!

These all look good on you, Tanya. You rock the wrap. Seeing them all together is a fascinating education for me in style and quality: The proportions on the 3 DVF tops are all so well balanced. I would keep, keep, keep! (Especially the first two -- I'm less a fan of the purple on you, but that could be my personal poison eye for purple.)

The others: The 4th one is a good colour on you, but the bigger sleeve and longer, fuller belt take away from the lines and seem out of proportion, IMO. 5 and 6 are the reverse: the skinnier belts and shorter hems don't look as balanced as the DVFs. And #7 just looks like too much fabric overall.

And I agree with CocoLion on wearing these with high rise pants.

I love all the tops except for 6 - because of the colour, plus it looks a bit tired, and 7, which seems a little bulky in front.
Another vote here for flares or boot-cuts for bottoms.

The DVFs are lovely. I think at this point they are very iconic and could be considered a classic. I'd probably ditch 5&6, as I think the skinny ties and short length seem a bit dated. #7 could work if you play up the arty/drapey factor. I am torn about #4. I love the teal color and the shape but again I think it's a little short; it might work with a skirt though.

As for what to pair with... I think the DVFs would work with flares assuming the waist is high enough. I personally would pair with skirts just because I don't do high waists. 7 would probably work with most skinny pants because of the drapier, longer shape.

What Denise said. All wearable but they need floaty high rise pants - like culottes.

Thank you very much ladies, this has been of great help. At this point I am definitely keeping the first three DVF ones, on the fence about the teal #4 and getting rid of the rest.
It seems though that the right bottoms are a tad complicated. I will try them with every high waisted jean/pant I own to see if anything works. I can see how something high waisted and floaty would work the best, but that is tough to find. Culottes would work but I am not allowed to wear anything leg exposed at work, so I need a full length pant. So I guess I will be looking for something like wide leg pants that look like full length culottes or possibly cropped high waisted skinny pants with side/back zipper for a cleaner look.
I do have some skirts that I think would work, but again, not allowed for work.

Oh you do like a wrap top and you have a great figure to wear them well. I'd keep the first three and pass on the rest. And I must say the DVF's are particularly beautiful on you and really ought to be kept.
I'd style them with something less fitted on the lower half. Flat fronted wide-ish leg pant, or a high waist cropped pant, flares or possibly a fuller skirt would be worth trying.
