Ms Maven, thank you. Lately, I’ve been wearing a lot of olive at home. But it was easier to pull together a navy capsule for the trip. The events at the school occurred when I was a baby. I thought the National Guard was there to protect the students. No, no, no, no! It was a shameful time in our past.
Jenny, thank you. It’s so hard to dress for heat and humidity.
Carla, thank you. I carried the navy linen jacket in my bag and pulled it out when it cooled off. I felt great in my travel and opera outfits.
Angie, thank you. I had to look up swish! I took two pairs of cropped white pants, fully expecting to spill something on the first pair. But no! I seem to have borrowed a bit of your magic powers, at least temporarily.
Jaime, thank you. We’re lucky in that we have time and money to be able to support her. It’s a pleasure because we love her and her voice is so good. Like butter, only louder.
April, thank you. None of my outfits were fashion forward, but I did like the white jeans. I felt just right - I fit in, yet felt slightly elevated at the same time. I like dressing nicely. I think it shows I respect the people and the event.
Suz, thank you. I’ve had the top since before the pandemic. I also had matching flowy pants that I never wore, so I donated them just recently. Even though we used to live in Houston, we’ve been in the high desert for over 30 years, and we’ve acclimated to the dryness. Visiting there was a reminder of what we don’t miss at all!
Janet, thank you. Our son read that in the new normal, in the South the highs won’t be higher, but the lows will be higher - that it won’t cool off as much at night. Our recent heat wave here broke records almost every day. When we bought our house in 1995 it didn’t even have AC, because it wasn’t needed.
