Hi Ladies,

Enjoying a quite evening watching my fave British crime drama and doing some on line window shopping:)

I saw these pants in store today but didn't have time to try them on. I like the idea of floral pants and I particularly liked Natalie's H&M pants which sold out quickly but can be purchased on eBay for approx 4 times the original retail price!

But I am wondering what everyone thinks of floral pants. Would these be a one season wonder? Should they only be worn by teenage girls?

Given my height, or lack of, these would be longer on me making them a full length pant not a crop.

Are they just a nice idea? Should they stay just an 'idea'?

Are these the ones Kirti and/or Natalie have? I love these pants because of the black background kind of "grounding" them. No, they don't need to only be worn by teenage girls (silly Deborah!). I do suspect the floral trend is just that - a trend and may not be here next year. But that doesn't mean you shouldn't participate in it. I could see these with any of your fantastic black jackets or fab slouchy sweaters.

I don't think they are the same but very similar and possibly a 'copy'.

A tailored jacket is exactly what I had in mind for the office and a drapey high low top for casual. And I like they are different to all my other pants. Might go try them on.

I know I'm a bit silly but I've been having these strange age appropriate conversations with myself lately!

Yep, the H&M floral pants. Those are completely sold out in NYC.

They are all over the blogosphere...

A copy could be styled just the same. I think they are a trend that might or might not stay... They can definitely look grown up. It's all in the styling. I find them age appropriate as well.

Thanks Zap! They are almost the same as the H&M ones aren't they:). Thanks for the link. I think the fact that they are all over the blogosphere being worn by lovely "young things" is what's giving me pause:)

The ones in the pic look like the exact H&M floral pants I have. I think you should go for it! You've been talking about it for a long time and I think you could pull it off! You could wear it with your slouchy black sweater and some heels!

I think they're fab! I don't see anything particularly age restrictive about flowers! Maybe if you wanted a pair of Hello Kitty pants I might wonder a bit, but flowers, no!

I think you could totally rock these, Deborah. I would wear them at my age (56). I think at 56 it would be a different look than the "lovely young things" wear.

Those are the same. I didn't get the pants, but got the skirt and I've worn it alot. I really like them!

I really love these particular floral pants, though I have since realized they are not really going to fit in with my style goals. I say YAY.

I fell in love with them when I saw them in Natalie's WIW and since they were no longer available when I scoured H&M, I ended with a snakeskin pair, from Zara, in muted colors of grays, pinks and greens and black, and I'm quite happy with them. I love the styling ideas everyone shared, too, Deborah, and you would look wonderful in these.

I like these and have been debating on a pale pair of florals myself. I don't think they are age inappropriate at all. I think the black is a great option.

Deborah, those pants are gorgeous. The only thing that gives me pause is... Well, I think of you as my style twin (at least aspirational). Everything I've seen you wear is pretty much exactly what I would wear, although perhaps not the same proportions because we're shaped differently.

And if I bought those pants, I'd like the look of them, and plan outfits with them, and take them out of the closet, and then end up wearing something different. Maybe just too much going on? I have a pair of black and white capris in a really bold floral print, that I wear a lot (in fact I'm wearing them at work today, I think they look professional enough). But all that colour, I just couldn't do it.

To be fair, I haven't seen how you dress for summer yet; maybe you add a lot more colour and pattern (my own summer wardrobe is more casual and a bit more colourful. And I've worn the heck out of dresses in that sort of print, but not pants). But if you are as much like me as I suspect, you might end up enjoying them on other people more.

On the other hand, I just clicked on Anchie's link, and now I want THOSE pants...

I do like these best of all the ones I've seen. Probably the black background (which would work for you especially) I decide they were not for me, but not only because of my age. I do think you could make them sophisticated with other items in your wardrobe.

Sorry but I DO have Hello Kitty pants (they are pj bottoms though)
