Hello everyone!
I'm new around here. I feel a little too shy to post a picture of myself in my profile picture at the moment, but perhaps as I use the forum more often that might change. About me - I'm 34, I live in the UK and I teach English as a foreign language to students online.
I've been looking for a forum similar to Polyvore (anyone remember this?) where you can get advice on how to wear your clothes and came across youlookfab.
I'm trying to break out of my 'rut' of wearing warm, dark colours. I love warm dark colours as they seem to complement my pale skin colour, but I'd really like to branch out into lighter colours. I like quirky fashion, so I often end up with lots of patterned items, or something with a bold print.
I recently bought this sweater vest / tank top from New Look (please click link). (See also on Asos).
I saw it in-store and thought it was just so cute and it reminded me of the Care Bears which I loved when I was young, so I bought it out of a bit of nostalgia too!
I'm trying to work out how I can wear this. I've paired it with a white shirt and jeans which I like, but I'd like some more options for how to wear it in colder months. I'd particularly like to build an outfits that are quirky and fun, without being too childlike. Any recommendations please? So far I've tried:
- an ivory turtleneck underneath and beige jeans
- a pink turtleneck underneath and beige jeans
but I'm not sure about all the pale colours - is it just because I'm not used to wearing light colours? Many thanks in advance!
