I am still waiting for my Original Moxie Samples, so products used were things I could find locally:
1. Giovanni Tea Tree Triple Treat Invigorating Shampoo. (Apparently can be used for daily wash and clarifying. I liked its dual utility and scent, but some may not like the scent....it has peppermint, rosemary, eucalyptus, etc.)
2. Curl Junkie Beauticurls Argan and Olive Oil Daily Hair Conditioner (Has some coconut oil....I really like the scent of this product, its subtle and warm...)
3. Mop Top Curly Hair Custard- feels a bit sticky/slimy like aloe so definitely custard like. Smells like oranges....not my favorite scent....wish it was odorless)

Process: I kept everything simple. I washed my hair then used the conditioner and smoothed and smooshed it into my hair. It easily released tangles but my hair did not feel as heavy or weighed down as it has with my previous conditioner. I only finger combed...no wide tooth combs or brushes. I partially rinsed the conditioner....maybe 3 seconds under my hand held shower sprayer, and then on sopping wet hair I added the Mop Top. In the past I have tried using a microfiber towel or tee shirt to dry my hair a bit before adding the gel.

With sopping wet hair, my hair clumped together better and formed more curves all around my head on day 1. It took a very long time to dry, so I ended up using a diffuser for about 10 minutes which produced a bit of frizz. However, my hair felt very soft and light and I think it had a bit of shine without having to add any Hair Bling (my go to for shine).

I slept with my hair up in a "pineapple" and also I have a silk bonnet and pillow case since the bonnet often falls off as I sleep.

My second day hair has a lot of volume and fairly well defined waves and curls... even in the layers under the top...which previouslt turned to frizz the second day. (Shown in last picture...the back of my hair is shorter than the front so you can see how curly the bottom of the back is at the nape of my neck...almost time for a trim.) It remains soft to the touch and light. Unlike my previous helmet hair...it moves and is bouncy! I may add some hair bling because to my eye, it's a bit less shiny. Also, no itchy scalp so far....

There is still room for improvement but getting rid of my itchy scalp, and discovering that my hair can feel soft and not straw like is a huge change!

ETA: I tried the Original Moxie samples. Get Clean Shampoo, which is a low lather product, Intense Quench which is their conditioner, and Just Gel for styling. It was a disaster. My hair had so much wet frizz that I couldn't bear to continue....so I rehashed it with my clarifying Giovanni Tea Tree Shampoo, and then tried samples of Innersense Hydrate Conditioner and Innersense Quiet Calm Curl Control. I also added very little Innersense I Create Hold gel.

No pictures from the Original Moxie disaster....

I added pics from the Innersense trial, day 2. I think my hair has a bit of a yellowish tint, which could be from the Original Moxie products because they all have some yellowish color to them, but the Innersense products look either white or ivory/cream colored and not too yellow...except the gel...so it could also be the gel. It also has more frizz in front…which I suspect may also be secondary to two washes and residual from the Original Moxie.

On the first day, my hair had very little frizz except right in front, and my wave pattern looked more like loose curls about the size of sidewalk chalk,, plus waves. Today there is still very little frizz. I think its possibly less shiny than the mop top, but it held up better in humidity. Its very humid here and the pics here are taken after my morning walk. The new pics start with number 8. I could feel the Innersense in my hair a little on day 1, but not day two. My hair also dried faster with the Innersense products than the Mop Top, but not by much.

I may try to do a refresh to see if I can reduce some of the frizz…..
