Waterpik recommends?

A completely random question, was wondering if anyone who uses waterpik could recommend a particular brand or type? I had a dental appt yesterday and feel I have to do something as my teeth are incredible plaque magnets. Thanks for any advice!

Mr. Style Fan uses the Waterpik waterflosser. He is pleased with it. The dentist discouraged the cordless model (not powerful enough).
He has had it for several years without any problems. I used it a few times, but I don't have his issues. Maybe that is TMI.

I use the battery operated rechargeable Waterpik brand --and have used it everyday for over 12 years. I love it--mostly because it has saved me from gum disease! It takes some time to get used to using it---I routinely got water all over the place including my bathroom mirror, but so worth it to avoid periodontal issues. No, the instrument does not last forever. I have replaced it every so often but my most recent purchase was the 3 speed style rechargeable, which costs a bit more, but has been very easy to use. The 3 speed rechargable is also more powerful, which combats Mr Stylefan's dentist's issue with it. I highly recommend it. I also like this one, because I can travel with it easily...

I have the small rechargeable one, and I like it, but I still floss religiously (I have gum issues despite regular cleanings). I may step up to a more powerful model soon.

Another vote for the Water Pik waterflosser.

I have the plug in model. My father-in-law (retired dentist) is a big fan.

Of course, the dental hygiene routine has now gotten a bit time-consuming, but each time I see the dentist I feel it was worth it.

SWAnn and Janet, the rechargeable sounds like a good travel option.
April and SF you’ve both given strong endorsements ,( and April’s FIL retired dentist). Leaning strongly towards the Waterpik waterflosser 660. Batten down the hatches!

I’ve always had plaquey teeth despite religious flossing, but the look on my hygienist’s face when I opened my mouth is finally forcing my hand…or teeth into action.

My mom had dentures at a very early age and I am determined to hang onto my teeth as long as I can.

I can't imagine a water flosser doing more than regular floss. I'm prone to plaque on my bottom front teeth just like my dad. I changed to using cocofloss and spending more time in the problem areas--with much improvement. Just my 2 cents--please let us know what you end up with and how it work. You may be able to change my mind!

I have one but forget to use it most of the time! Not sure it does that much more than just swishing with peroxide + water TBH.

I took the plunge so to speak , and now am the proud owner of a Waterpik waterflosser 660.
ST and Kelly I hear what you’re saying. However my experience at my age (65 in a few months ) has shown me that as diligent as I am with flossing, it is impossible for me to get a good job done. I think as we age , the gums recede , our teeth are more pitted, there seems to be increased surface area for plaque to adhere to. My diet is also heavy in grains and seeds which seem to like to take root. Sorry if this is TMI.
Im not going to tell my hygienist about my new accessory, so I will report back the results. Happy flossing whatever method you choose everyone!
