Wear your clothes a little looser.

I still have 4 weeks of shows to watch - and I watch ALL of them - to get a handle on trend and direction. But this is what is really hitting home at the moment.

Black is going to be big again. Buy up the colour while you can. I knew it wouldn't last.

Lots of longer layers, and short layers over long layers. Full report on the way in a month.

Ah, Mona. Actually I said the colour choices wouldn't last. Black is always available - to your point.

Ingunn, it's always nice to have the choice! We do not need to act upon the latest trends - it's fun to know what they are how and whether we want to participate. And for me, it's extremely interesting to see how they filter down to retail. Slouchy trousers have been on the catwalks for 5 years - but they are only hitting mainstream retailers now.

Those colours will always be there, AJ - because they are virtually neutrals. But each season there is a dominant neutral - ink blue is dominant now. But it looks like black is back in fill force.

Angie, that is true. I think it's because most people are conservative and slow adopters, but eventually the majority adjust to new trends.

I am all for looser fit and slouchy trousers but not at all for black. I love me some colours. At the mall today, ink blue and green were everywhere.

Now that I've adjusted to the trend, I'm quite happy to hear about the looser fit - so much more comfortable.

And as someone who ADORES the colour black and wears it well, I couldn't be happier!

Yay for loose, yay for neutrals, yay for black! It's all good. Looking forward to what's coming down the pipe. Although for those of you who love bright colour, I do hope there will remain a sufficient number of options. It's nice to have choice.

Elisabeth, I love black too - but not head to toe and not every day. I want to see an assortment of neutrals and colours. We have been spoiled for two years with an excellent choice of colour.

Merwomen, pointy toes for sure. Loafers and mid calf-booties.

I think the oversized trend is reaching it crescendo.

Yes, I also notice the black, plus the continuation of leather and fur. Also the micro mini (skirt) appears very prevalent.

Still so much oversized stuff, Jules. Don't you think? I hadn't noticed lots of micro mini. In fact I see an assortment of lengths and longer skirts in general. AND WONDER WHY ON EARTH THEY AREN'T APPEARING IN RETAIL STORES.

I did not, Atlantia. But I did have a glimpse at Stockholm Fashion Week. The biggies are happening now: NY, L, P and M. That's where all the world wide fashion direction comes from - so those are the ones that get my undivided attention.

Yes, I'm watching, too! Just wondering if you watched Tokyo considering your wonderful trip and joy of Japanese fashion.
I'm so happy that you share your thoughts with us....I feel like you take away so much more than I do. Obviously with your years in the industry, you can really take the shows apart and boil them down to trends. I more watch them for the spectacle. It can be so overwhelming, and they're over so fast. We're lucky to have you as our guide!
