Hi!
I ordered this watch recently. I had been looking for a new watch in my price range.

Here is the thing--it is too big for my wrist and you cannot remove the links yourself. i would need to go to a jeweler to have them remove part of the chains. Has anyone had this done? Is it feasible? I have never had such and adjustment before.

Yes, I have. When I got my Citizen watch a few years ago (gift from DH) our local watch place removed the extra links no problems. It's a local mini-chain that mostly concentrates on replacing watch batteries, that sort of thing, but also can do adjustments, sells new bands, etc. Maybe you have something similar in your area? Or any jeweler should be able to handle it as well.

I have a Seiko watch with a metal band. I bought it at a now defunct department store. I needed to have links removed and they were able to do it themselves. Since then, I've gone to an independent watch repair shop for batteries.

Macy's may be able to do it for you for free since you bought it from them. It wouldn't hurt to ask. I have learned when buying a watch to ask if the band can be shortened because some cannot be.

Yes - I have had to have this done on every single watch I've ever bought! It's pretty standard I think - and most stores where you buy the watch will do it for you (in my experience!) - but I've also gone to a jeweler and had it done - seemed like it was not a big deal for them!

Absolutely -- I always need this to be done. Macy's should be able to make the adjustment (I've had Nordstrom do it for a watch I purchased from them). Any decent mall jewelry store should be able to do this for you, or anyplace that replaces watch batteries. They'll give you the spare links that they removed too.

Pretty watch!

I've gone to jewelers to have this done with watches and bracelets, and it seems pretty fuss-free. I've done it at places where I've purchased things, and also at random places near work or at the mall or whatever, and it always turns out fine.

Most jewelers can do this for you. That is, if the watch band is made to be shortened, which most are. Probably a small fee, $5-$10. But I'd try where you bought it first.

Yes. Many times. All my watches need adjustment. Go to the jewelers to have it done.

Me too. Many times. Go to a jeweler and don't let your husband have a go at doing it! (Speaking from experience here.)

Yes, a jeweler or the place where you purchased it can do it quickly and easily. Should be no cost from where you purchased it, or just a few dollars at a jeweler.

Thanks all! Macys told me there were unable to make the adjustment. That is why I thought it might be more complicated than a typical watch adjustment. Is there anything in the photo that would make you think it is unadjustable?

I have this done all the time. As far as your watch, I can't really tell from the picture since it only shows the front. Depending on the clasp, this watch might be a little more complicated to size since the links don't look like they are traditional watch links. Can you snap a picture of the back of the watch showing the clasp?

I also have most of my watch bands sized down. Most bands have small pins that can be removed to take out links. From the pic, this may not be the case with the watch you purchased but without seeing the back, it is hard to tell. I am not sure this style is intended to fit to the wrist though. It looks like it is to be worn like a chain bracelet.
