Warning to Boden Velvet Coat Buyers...

It shrinks in the wash! I washed in cool water, delicate cycle and low/medium heat in the dryer and the sleeves shrunk a good 2 inches, also the length shrunk about 1 inch...no change in how the body felt..so be SURE to wash/dry it before your return time runs out, or before you have it altered....

Oh no, I would try and return it as a faulty item, it is sold as a machine washable item. Returns policies are very different for faulty goods as opposed to a return for changing your mind.

Oh, thanks RJ, but it still fits fine in the body and I still need to have the sleeves shortened (will wash a few more times first) but just wanted to tell anyone who bought it to wash it soon, before the time ran out...Bodens gives a 3 month return window, so that is generous....if it shrinks anymore I'll return it- dont want it ending up a cropped coat-lol!

Thank you for the warning. That's an important thing to know. How did you find the sizing, other than the sleeve-length for this jacket? I can wear anything from a 4 to a 10 in jackets, so I'm nervous about ordering online.
