Warm Spring? Clear Spring? How can I tell?

Hi, I'm new to this forum and am trying to find my best colors to update my wardrobe. I know I'm a spring - and I think I'm either warm or clear - but I can't figure out which one. My skin a fair, with gold and pink undertones, my eyes are dark blue and hair use to be bright blond, but is now darker blonde/light brown. I think I look better in the warm spring colors, but I'm just not sure if my light skin fits the description of a warm spring. Any useful tips would be greatly appreciated!

Welcome to the forum, Ruby! I'm a warm Spring too.

It's hard to say at this point without clear and close-up visuals of your skin, hair and eye colour. Perhaps you could post some photos?

The distinction might not really matter. Many people find that this system works better as general guidelines, rather than rigid rules and color requirements.

As a 'Spring' look for colors on the warm side, with yellow undertones. Be on the lookout for shades that bring out your eye color.

This is the best close up picture I could find. I want to know what 'spring' I am so I can plan a small work wardrobe with only colors that look best on me. I'm a jeans and tee shirt person usually, and for work I usually wear khakis or black pants with a plain shirt. But I recently got promoted and need a more professional look. Thanks for your help!

Congratulations on your promotion! From your photo, your coloring looks a lot like mine. I think I look nice in both warm and clear spring-recommended colors. Like Laurinda said, it probably doesn't matter that much between warm and clear Make sure you pick colors that you like, too.

I'm going to say the opposite. I think you are a cool Spring and look best in cooler tones - colours that are blue-toned and not yellow based. For example, a blue red instead of a yellow red. The colour that you are wearing in the photo is yellow based and it's too acidic for your complexion. A blue-based version of it would be more flattering. Does that make sense?

Sorry I havne't respoded sooner...busy week! I thought I'd post some more pictures since I got responses that I look good in warm, clear and cool....I want my best colors...I always thought I was warm or clear because I look good in gold vs silver, brown vs black, ivory vs white, etc. But maybe i'm wrong. if anyone is still willing to help me out, I'd appreciate it!

Hi Ruby - I just wrote an article about this, so I did a ton of research. I find it fascinating, although personally I have a terrible eye for color.
I love the site linked below - I love the way this writer talks about colors.

I will also say that from what I've learned, it's almost impossible to tell these things from online photos, because of camera and monitor differences. It's all about how your skin reacts to color, and hair and eye color are secondary. People often end up being something very different than they think they are!

The green that you show appears to be a cool grey green (on my monitor) and if you like yourself in that colour, you are likely to be a summer, not a spring. I would guess a light summer, who looks good in some spring colours.
