I'm back with the keep or chuck posts, after rather a long hiatus. This is not all of my pants; my winter pairs are boxed up. But this is all of the all-weather and solely summer stuff.

Disclaimer 1: This is as heavy as heavy gets, not just in terms of number of photos. Get out NOW if you're at work or of delicate sensibilities when it comes to extra tyres, VPL, PPL, wrinkles, and other such cosmetic foibles

Disclaimer 3: My tummy is at its worst possible width, being about 2.5 inches bigger than 'normal' today. (Aside: can you call 2/3 of a month normalcy, or is that --- ahem! --- a stretch?) You can clearly see the apple in me here. However, I wish to assure you that a hoiked-up T-shirt is not what I typically wear with ANY of these, and I never tuck either. You can see why! These photos are for assessment purposes only.

Disclaimer 4: Most of these pants are ALL in need of serious quiet time with an iron. I have zero hanging space at home and *everything* wrinkles in my overstuffed drawer (ONE 3-ft drawer contains pants, skirts, tops, T-shirts, Indian tunics and bottoms, scarves, camisoles, swimsuits... the whole shebang! loungewear, sleepwear and undies have a little separate space, thankfully) I typically iron when I decide on outfits, then leave them out.

Disclaimer 5: Not all colours are true, and I've tried to describe the hue instead.

I know it's hard to tell sometimes, and I acknowledge that 'bloat time of month' and un-ironed pants are NOT pretty. However, between work and being ill a few days, I've run out of time. We have to move house (different city) in a few days, so I've got just a couple of days to finish sorting stuff to throw out! So if you guys can ignore the mess and muss to help me out, I'd be ever so grateful!

Basically, please assess fit and other frump factors. I'm trying to borrow your objectivity when it comes to seeing my body, so feel free to detail WHAT is wrong with each. It helps me learn and be alert in future purchases. Also, if anyone has styling ideas, they're ever so welcome.

#1-3: SSB cotton pants, unlined, pinstriped. Hand-me-downs prone to be too large in the waist on 'normal' days.

#4-6: Runty twin of the striped SSB above, a size smaller so fits waist nicely (normally) but tight across butt I think? This one is black with pinstripes, despite appearances!

#7-9: Mossy green khakis, button-fly, also unlined cotton.

#10-12: Stone unlined cotton cargoes. Very thin material is comfortable on hot day, but slightly impractical from a 'cargo' point of view.

#13-15 Lightweight cotton drawstring pants with patterned (stripe-y) border weave. Sort of a fusion garment, a tailored version of Indian pants. Also unlined (which is the norm for pants here!). No pockets of any kind.

#16-18 Slubby cotton pull-on pants with pockets and elasticated back waist. No, the pockets can't be sewn shut --- the pants won't pull on without the 'give'!

#19-21 Supposedly dress pants, in navy cotton (unlined again), ultra lightweight and drapey, wide-ish legs and concealed side zipper. Hemmed for heels.

#22-24 Lightweight herringbone-weave taupe pants, meant to have been ankle pants on someone 3 sizes larger and not 4' 10'' tall; but fits as a pair of loose trousers on me. Ankle vents too weird?

#25-27 Dark chocolate brown cotton-linen blend capris. Elasticated back waist and drawstring but partly tailored front. The cotton is prone to pilling on the inner thighs, which is hugely irritating of course. Pockets show quite awfully, so that maybe just this once I should sacrifice them, handy though they are! (if it's to stay, that is)

#28-30 Batik floral-patterned lightweight cotton capris. Weirdly, they have a vent on the *inside* of the leg seam! Thinking of sewing those shut to de-volumize, if you think worthwhile.... though I confess the vent is useful for my typical lotus posture!

#31-33 The only pair of non-cotton pants in the bunch, this blended wide-leg camel pair from M&S is very drapey, hangs beautifully (once I remove the wrinkles) and is the sole dressy pair really. Floppiness partly due to being hemmed for heels.

Phew! Can't believe the courage this took to post! (Yeah, I've been procrastinating too.) Off to post the skirts next...
