As I've very much enjoyed reading the wardrobe-analysis posts lately, I assessed my wardrobe over the weekend and jotted down my musings.

This year, I've shopped sparingly during my pregnancy, rotating eight maternity dresses (primarily in navy and black), picking up a handful of wrap dresses for nursing, updating my nighties and robes, finding a small burgundy Coach bag that's the perfect size for travel, refreshing some underpinnings, and adding a few new pieces of jewelry, which seemed like the safest outlet for shopping!

Looking ahead to the eventual return to my pre-maternity wear, I'm feeling content with a wardrobe of dresses that aim for classic elegance, with jewelry inspired by vintage glamour (for weekends) or with a sculptural look (for work), and a variety of handbags, many deep red or metallic that pair nicely with a wardrobe of navy and other dark neutrals.

A few photos are below. Over the years, I've realized that I feel happiest in dresses - especially in deep / jewel tones and classic silhouettes that allow me to play with accessories - and have curated my wardrobe accordingly. Although I do like patterns, I have found that I tend to pass on all but abstract floral / watercolor prints, and have tried to be more discerning in selecting these going forward.

YLF has also helped me think about how much of my wardrobe is devoted to different activities, so about half of my non-special-occasion dresses are for work (worn year-round with blazers / cardigans and tights), and the other half are split for wear on winter or summer weekends. My occasion / formal dresses are worn fairly regularly year-round, and has been pared down considerably to the pieces that bring me the most joy.

At the moment, I feel like I have plenty of variety within a style formula that works for me. Looking forward to further tweaking the formula and updating as needed after retiring my maternity wear.

Hope that everyone else has been enjoying assessing and refreshing their wardrobes, and happy to hear about others' insights about their personal styles and favorite formulas.
