I did some culling this weekend: a pair of pj shorts (no elastic left in the waistband), my oldest underpinnings (again with the dead elastic), two pairs of socks (holes in the heels and toes), and a pair of jeans (my Boden Cavendish with the side stripe - sob!). My oldest pair of yoga pants is on the chopping block as well (threadbare spots on the knees and bum).

The jeans were the only surprise. I ran them through the wash for the first time in a while, and when they came out (cold water, no dryer) the stitching and fabric around the back pockets had just disintegrated. Serves me right for buying stretchy jeans! They're a 98/2 cotton blend, which is usually pretty sturdy. These had at least 60 wears on them, but I still expect more from jeans. I don't really need to replace them immediately; I have 4 other pairs of blue jeans and 2 pairs of black jeans. Also, we are heading into wool trouser season anyway, and I am trying to get more wear out of my dresses as well. But I bet I will want a new pair come spring...

The socks will most likely be taken care of at Christmas; I always seem to get a few pairs. I should replace the other basics ASAP to avoid laundry bottlenecks but, ugh, all the underwear I own -- three different types -- are discontinued models, and the replacements I've tried have been seriously disappointing. At least I'm looking forward to trying out some new yoga pants (such a gear junkie).

Oh -- and I forgot my flip-flops at the pool after DS's swim lesson. Fingers crossed they'll be in the lost & found when we go back next weekend. Otherwise, I'm in the market for some new sub-$10 sandals...
