Wall Stencil is Done - Success

Hi. I posted a while back that I planned to stencil a wall in the new house to look like wallpaper. A few people asked me to post photos when it was done. Today I finally got to the point that it was ready to stencil. I am posting my inspiration picture, the wall and then a close up. I also posted about the color scheme and I know it didn't get much love but I think it turned out very much like my vision.

Here goes. What do you think? Tomorrow we install the blinds and hang the curtains - after golf of course.

Thanks. It took about 2.5 hours which is less than expected. We hung the mirror this morning and I think it is coming together. The blinds are going up now and then the curtain panels and pictures and it should be done.

We are on a roll. We put in the blinds today and hung pictures. I am trying to decide whether to leave the windows as is or add the 1" pewter rod and silvery grey long panels between the windows and at the outer edges. They would be floor length. I think the panels would add a bit of glam but we also really like the clean look of the blinds alone.

What do you think?

Oh my gosh Dianthus - it's look positively GORGEOUS!!! For me personally, I would leave the windows with just the blinds. I think the panels would take away from the beautiful shape of the room. Your walls look incredible.

You have done an amazing job with the room. The stenciling looks fantastic. If I were you, I would leave the windows with just the blinds. I am normally a romantic, drapey kind of curtains person, but the blinds work well with the angled walls/windows, and I think any sort of drapes would obscure that aspect of the room.

It's just....GORGEOUS!!! Great job! I would leave the windows as-is, but I am a minimalist when it comes to window treatments. I can see panels looking fab.

Fantastic job! I would likely add the panels because I love layers in decorating and I feel like unless the blinds/shades are decorative, another layer would add to the beauty. It also softens the room and adds just a touch more sound abatement.

I vote leave the windows as is. I very much prefer the clean look, and I think the wall stencil adds a ton of punch, and drapes might be over doing it or drawing attention away from your gorgeous stencil.

As a fellow stenciler and faux finisher, you did an excellent job! I would like to see the room with long, silvery drapes that puddle slightly on the floor.
