It sincerely depends on the "walking" that is anticipated. I made arrangements to walk with a gentleman at the Lake a few years ago. He showed up in street clothes and street shoes. I knew instantly that he wasn't really a "walker" and I felt that he had lied to me.
I wasted four miles of my life "walking" around the lake with him at a slow, slithering pace. And he whined the whole time about how much his feet hurt. I couldn't wait to get away. I never responded to any of his future invitations.
I want to amend my comment. Every once in a while I will see couples walking around the Lake. It is pretty clear they are there on some sort of date because they are very much strolling.
