Some WIWs from so far in 2022. Apologies for the varying photo quality. My balcony faces north and the light is just awful. Sometimes I try to fix it and sometimes I just accept looking like a blue person.

Anyway, I think these are pretty good examples of my recent balance between a) wearing very minimalist outfits with a lot of black and b) not being scared of big statements on occasion. Lots of repeats here as I wear my essentials over and over.

#1 Skinny jeans (these have a hole in the thigh after 62 wears and will be replaced shortly with straight legs), suede booties, and velvet tee. I live in a place where short sleeve velvet makes sense and I love it!

#2 Eileen Fisher silk button-down found secondhand to replace the one that was worn to shreds. Warp&Weft jeans. It's been warm and I often just go barefoot at home.

#3 Affectionately thought of as my "bedspread" outfit. Elizabeth Suzann dress and Anthropologie duster.

#4 Same EF button-down and EF wide legs with Cariuma sneakers. Sadly, I also decided to retire these pants after 110 wears because of a hole and stretched-out knees. Sometimes, you match your coffee cup to your outfit.

#5 Velvet tee again, layered over slip dress

#6 Floral dress, with (different) floral duster vest.

#7 Vest from #6 over jeans from #1 and EF button-down from #2/4.

#8 Velvet tee AGAIN, with linen/wool pants, bandana, and cashmere duster. A tiny foray into dark academia.
