Angie - any idea why it's harder to find dots? Fashion cycle? Or seen as too precious? Personally, I think they work better for a more classic wardrobe.
Nitsirk and AliceinWonderland - thank you for articulating why you think the look works. I agree the shape of the blouse shows more in the dots pattern, and the sleeve balance the neckline.
Others who wondered - I'm convinced that the models are styled to show the neckline more open. It has to do with the placement of the bottom layer of the V. It can be worn further up, although for those who are more busty (raises hand) either a pin or a snap would be required to keep the V placed appropriately.
Truthfully, I've always wondered about the guidance that a surplice or wrap is best for people with curves. I can see if from a design perspective in that it creates lines and emphasizes shape. But then why don't retailers either raise the chest line, or add an extra closure? Meanwhile, I'll keep adding hooks-and-eyes.
