Your advice was spot on regarding shortening this 70s skirt to show my ankles.
I have only pinned the hem here. I was hoping to be able to simply turn it up and hand sew, but the fabric is too stiff so I'm going to have to cut it off, overstich the edge and make a single layer turn-up. It looks a little longer in the pic because of the camera angle and the stiffness of the hem making it stand away from my body.
I'm wearing it with a merino wool top and knee-high lace up boots. I have 2 similar tops from Scanlan Theodore that are very fine wool and have beautiful gathered sleeves at the wrist. They have a 70s vibe without being too OTT.
Thank you for your great advice!
