Vintage boots - dated? With photos

#1 red suede chunky heels, ruund toe
#2 blue suede stacked wooden heel (these were given to me by a client, they are a lovely sapphire and made in Italy and were basically unworn when she gave them to me)
#3 black leather funky details - outside lace, inside zipper, orange lining

I like all of them, but am I committing any fashion crimes?

AG - I'm not sure if you are commiting any fashion crimes either but I LOVE all three of them. My fave is #2. I love cobalt blue!

Oooh, the red ones look dirty but it's just the nap of the suede - all are very clean and in great shape for 60s/70s boots.

I think they are all okay--the clunky heels on #s 1 and 3 are not the best, but more than compensated by the other virtues of the boots. And #2 I think you should keep for posterity. Fab is an understatement. AMAZING.

I love them all. No fashion crimes to be seen here. The 60s-70s shape boots are coming back into style. Take a peek at some of the more avant garde fashion bloggers - boots are trending toward chunky-heeled and round toed, with some disco style platforms chucked in for good measure. Suede seems to be getting some love as well, which makes me happy. Go you and your blue (and red) suede boots. I would love to see how you style them into outfits.

The last pair are great retro. The blue one are exquisite. We have been talking here and there about blue shoes or boots. I think you could have fun creating outfits around them.

They do, Angie. It is hard to get a picture of just my leg in them, but I tried them all on again with YLF standards in mind before posting them for consideration here.

I feel vintage boots run smaller in the calf generally, which is why I like them.

I think they all look great and would work well with your style. If I were you, I'd keep them in a heartbeat.

Without looking at any responses yet, I found the blue had the most modern or least dated heel and toe. I like them all personally and if worked into an outfit the right way, I'd say they could all work. Having said that, the toe on the black look a whole lot like late 90's early 2000 boots to me and the heavy heel on the red could be seen as dated. Now I want to see how everyone else weighed in !

Thanks everyone! I'm glad most here would wear these too... The blue boots are clearly keepers just because they are so elegant. They do have more of a straight shape than that wide calf going on in the photo. I will try to model them all soon (assuming Angie doesn't give them the boot, so to speak).

All of these date from before 1980, so it's interesting that the red ones have such a 90s look!

These boots look classic... when you said square toed & big chunky heels, I was envisioning these: http://cgi.ebay.com/Brown-Leat.....3cb1df2ac7... although this particular pair looks artsy but you get the idea.

All should be fine. I'm not crazy about the heel on #1 and #3 but I don't see any major fashion crimes. I'm drooling over #2. Beautiful color and shape!
