I was wondering if anyone else had ordered these or seen them in person? They were featured prominently in the NAS catalog but I don't think they are one of Angie's picks, which makes me suspicious that they might not be so great.

I ordered them along with the PG Natasha loafers to see which I like better.

BTW, I would like to reintroduce myself. I discovered YLF years ago during NAS (which also lead to me discovering NAS!) and have been lurking ever since, though it's been a long time since I was an active poster - had a baby, school, working, etc. I am not as preppy as I used to be (think more Madewell vs. J.Crew) or as much of a pear (not because I'm thinner, sadly, but because I have more weight in the middle! Working on it!).

I have made some big NAS orders in the last few days, and hope I can contribute some useful thoughts as the boxes (so many boxes) arrive...

The Davy were part of my shoe research, also the PG Natasha. Davys were easy to rule out for me:
-they are heavy (one shoe weighs almost as much as the pair of Natashas).
-the leather/suede is stiff
-they are long and narrow
-the dye has a toxic smell. I have run into a lot of very nasty smelling shoe dyes lately. With so much exposure to toxins, who needs another one when it can easily be prevented.
-the sole is OK but not very grippy, I don't think it will be reliable for a good winter.
That said, if you have a narrow foot and don't mind the smell or stiffness, they may work for you. I think that because these shoes have so many issues, if you are interested in them you will be able to get them for a very good price later on because they will be hard to fit.
As you see, I am not a fan at all.
The Natashas are much better.

Based on Joyce's review, these don't sound too appealing.

But then, nothing's appealing once someone says "if you have a narrower foot"...

At least, not to those of,us who don't!

Thanks for the details, Joyce! They don't sound promising - glad I ordered the Natashas as well. I was definitely expecting the shoe to be fairly stiff, but they sound pinchy. Surprised they are so heavy compared to the Natasha's. I hate opening a new box of shoes and getting an awful chemical whiff.

Thistle, I quite agree! I do not have a narrow foot. I have a big foot - usually 11B - but when I have width problems it's always in the toe box (oh, what I have put my left little toe through! ). My heels are a little bit narrow in proportion and sometimes I have gaping on the sides of slip-ons.

I'll report back when I get both pairs, hopefully this week.

Preppy Pear - I look forward to your review I am an 11-11.5 and I would love to hear about the toe box on these shoes as they don't carry them in my Nordstrom. As a matter of fact my Nordstrom didn't carry any of the NAS over size 10 shoes...sigh.
