Vicar review

My Vicar booties in cream came today. I love them, and they are so cute on. I am amazed by how light they are.

Now for sizing. Per the reviews, which rated them both small and narrow, I sized up. The Vicar's only come in full sizes, which is a disappointment, since going up a full size in shoes is rarely a win for me. I did not find the Vicars to run either small or narrow. I'll need inserts to take up some room. However, the 11s are a nice fit around the leg, and fit well around the heel, so I think 11 is likely the correct size. In the interests of research, I just reordered in a size 10, so I can compare the two. I will certainly keep one of the two pairs.

I’m a solid size 10, or 41. The sizing on these shows 41 as an 11, so your experience makes sense. I think Nordstrom is wrong in their size conversion. Thanks for the review.

Now I’m nervous - I’m what I would call a true size 11. Which translates to a 42. I have these on order but suspect they will be too small. Oh well, they were a little more than I wanted to spend so if they don’t work the budget is in better shape. I also ordered the Marc Fisher boots in brown, which fit well and I really like. I just couldn’t stop thinking about these, so felt I needed to at least try them.

Let us know which size you end up going with.
I often wonder if the comments about run small etc are really meant for the core middle sizes and not for the sizes on the ends…

I'm glad you'll likely have an option that fits between the two sizes. I've only tried Pikolinos a couple times, and both times found them to run very short, so I've been scared to try them again.

I was hesitant about trying the Pikolinos's too, Kathie, because the one time I did, they were either woefully large, or too short. So I figured these might not work. Later this evening, I tried on the 11s with padded boot socks, and I'm pretty well convinced that this is the correct size, even though they are a bit long. If I used my shearling inserts, they would probably be perfect. To wear them in summer with just low cut socks, I would likely need to double up on inserts and tighten the laces. I often have to make these kinds of adjustments with boots because of my narrow, low volume feet. Unless the 10s are spot on, which I doubt, the 11s will stay with me. In any case, I'll be sure and report back when the 10s arrive.
