Vibrant Flame Coat - Take 2

So, the sun cooperated a little today and I tried new pics. I can't edit the original post, so I'll start over here. . .

I think I switched my fave, but I'm still not saying, nor am I convinced. . .so I'll eagerly await your thoughts

pics 1-3: Metro coat (pic 1 has Claire's idea of puffer vest underneath!)

Pics 4-6: Lady Day Coat (pic 4 has the puffer underneath it)

Metro definitely needs the sleeves shortened. Lady Day might benefit from letting down the hem an inch.

Other alterations I would need to check into feasibility and cost.

I am sorry I missed the earlier post but looking at both of these I cannot put my finger on exactly why, but the first coat looks the best to me. I like the pocket detail. In fact I think it is the details in the first coat that make it stand out out to me. The buttons on the sleeve appear more spaced out and the additional button down the front of the coat creates a better sense of balance. I dont know either label but #1 looks to be a better quality coat to my eye.

The first coat wins my vote. Better fit and length, looks sharper and more stylish to my eyes.

I like the first coat best too. One of the first things I look at is where the shoulder seams hit, and they look perfect there.

Ohhh! They're both great -- love the colour!

I think I like #1 a little better becasue of the flap pockets. It looks like it fits better too.

I am going against the crowd to say I like the second coat better. It makes more of an hourglass on you. The other one felt wrong to my eye but I did wonder if it was the camera angle.

But I LOVE the color of both. You are gonna feel so happy in the color!

I agree with elisabeth on the pocket comment. Nice bit of styling. But that color is FAB beyond FAB! The sleeve length on the Metro maybe needs shortening a bit, but I didn't really notice it until you pointed it out, so just keep your arms waving overhead!!! The Lady Day is a fine length in my book.

My vote is for the Metro. The Lady Day seems like the waist may be set up too high. Really pretty color on you, either way!

every time I click through, I change my mind about which one I like better. Honestly, I don't think you can go wrong with either. They are both stunning on you!

I think they both look good, and since the appearance doesn't seem to be hugely different, what about the other factors?

If you need this to be a warm coat (you did live in Minnesota, right?), then I would pick the Lady coat because of the thinsulate, and I don't know about you, but I really like to be able to put my hands in my pockets, and the Lady coat is also better for that, from what I can see.

Parsley - good point. Somewhere I read that these are not terrifically warm coats even with the Thinsulate!

Tricky, then, isn't it? I like the first coat for its fit and details, but agree the second might be more practical. Oh dear.

But either way, the colour is fantastic on you!

Are you really wearing a puffer vest under that coat, and is that how you want to layer underneath it, Sara?

No, I don't think I'll wear it over a puffer vest. It was Claire's tongue-in-cheek recommendation for us bustless ladies Although it mimicks as maximum volume I'd wear underneath.

Having a bust would help take up the chest space, wouldn't it?!

I have hips, so I take up all the hip space. . .
