Well, that was surprisingly quick — Nordstrom delivered this today, and I had just come in from a hike, so I threw it in over my hiking gear. Please disregard the ancient gear pants and cap!
The fit is good and TTS. I’m always concerned about the fit of longer coats and jackets around the hip, and this is not exactly roomy there but it does fit fine (I’ll try it over jeans too, to be sure). I do not need it to fit over anything bulky — I rarely ever wear bulky sweaters anymore, and when I do I have other coats. My weight is currently at a peak (ugh) so this is as snug as it will ever be (I’m stepping up my activity and watching my eating again, now that we are home, so I hope to get that situation back under control).
As for the style, I am used to shorter (or very long) dark-colored puffers, so I’m having trouble evaluating the flattery level of this jacket — what do you think?
Items of note:
- it’s soft and lightweight — not stiff at all. Not overly warm, which is good — I run warmer than I used to.
- the color is more seafoam-green than aqua-blue. That’s not a problem for me, as both are good colors on me.
- hood is removable which I like
- I wish the zipper also opened from the bottom — on longer jackets I think this is really helpful even if you don’t have big hips or thighs like I do. I’m sitting down in the jacket right now, and it doesn’t seem to be a problem when sitting or walking, but still... it’s a detail I think makes a long zippered jacket especially wearable. I don’t think it’s a deal breaker on this jacket because it seems to function just fine despite it.
What do you think?
Bonus Sunny photo — she is tired after four miles!
