I don't know this brand. The Nordstrom site says it's true-to-size. But there aren't any reviews from real-time buyers yet.

I don't have direct experience with the brand but I'm pretty sure it's British -- I think of it as on par with Boden. I vote give it a bash!

I’m not personally familiar with Joules. I’ve bought two vests for the upcoming season. One is a very inexpensive fleece for at home wear and the other one is for birding and anything else.

Joules is a UK brand - it generally runs a bit on the small side & is known for its preppy cool colours with ditsy florals (so I don't own any of their pieces, as you can imagine lol - it was popular with the girls at school who owned horses etc, so I imagine it should be pretty practical for mucking out the stables at 5am) That sorta thing

Oh I didn't mean it that way - it IS cute, I just meant that their clothes aren't too delicate (e.g. the sort of stuff you wear for 'show' but that isn't actually waterproof/ practical etc). But then again, teenagers aren't exactly famous for putting practicality over looks, so it's entirely possible those girls wore Joules for their dirty work when other clothing would have been more practical.

I don't know for sure, I didn't hang out with them in their stables in the wee hours of the mornings - just heard them discussing such things whilst at school

Love your pick. It is helpful to be able to close the vest for wear under a jacket or coat to in the wind but sizing is generally very forgiving as they are usually worn open and loose. I prefer a bit longer length that covers the waist but that is just a personal preference. I like red to add a bit of color for the holidays casual events.

I absolutely love my Fjallraven vest, and immediately got rid of my thicker, puffier vests once I got it. Thin, lightweight, but rugged and warm enough to span lots of uses/temps.

They’re pricey at full retail, but I’ve seen them on sale, and secondhand on Poshmark and eBay. I find them TTS.

I was going to chime in but Zaeobi got there before me!Joules is a nice ,mid range high street uk brand.I don’t have many things from them but my daughter has two raincoats and a rucksack all have performed well and been true to size.l have a sweater and three blazers and again they have lasted well.

My favourite vest ,or gilet as it’s called here ,is from Barbour.It cost me £70 sol think that’s in your price range?

Cardiff girl and Zaeobi, is it correct that a US8 is a UK12 for sizing? I measure US4 in chest, US6 for waist and US6 for hips. So I thought maybe I should order a US8. Thanks

Not Cardiff girl or Zaeobi, but we also use UK sizing here in NZ ( British colony). You are correct: a UK 12 is a US 8.
