I am writing this post with some trepedation, despite the fact that I checked with Angie before putting it up and got the green light from her to do so. But since many of you lovely ladies are animal lovers, I hope you'll understand my desire to spread the word about an online fundraiser for a cause that's very near and dear to my heart.

The Seeing Eye, aka the school that bred and trained my darling Reva, is an institution that operates without any kind of government fundinng. As such, it needs to keep raising money to ensure it can keep up with its guide dog training programs (which include so much more than just student instruction). The school has currently launched an online auction featuring more than 200 items. They range from the goofy (and admittedly lame) to the downright cool (dinner with Betty White, a four-day spa weekend) and have plenty of prizes unique to different cities (concert and sports tickets, restaurant gift certificates etc). I wanted to put the link out there in case anyone was interested in taking a look. Please don't feel obligated to do anything about this, and I sincerely hope you don't feel pressured to do so. I hope you understand that this is just one of my many efforts to support an organization that has had an immeasurable impact on me personally and that does great work for both the blind and canine communities.
