versatile blazer

Hi,
I am looking to update my wardrobe with some versatile pieces for business casual days in an academic/legal environment. I am thinking of the lewit side slit pants in black and navy (available second-hand) https://shop.nordstrom.com/s/l.....ts/4728350

, some elevated t-shirts from j crew in navy and seaweed green

, and a blazer or cardigan of some sort.

I am a deep autumn, so I don't want to buy a black blazer. I have a navy blazer already. Do you think something camel might work? Does anyone have an idea for a rust or olive blazer instead? Would you instead go with a cardigan? I like simple, classic dressing, but want something a tiny bit modern and/or young (I am in my early '40s) so I don't look too frumpy or casual.

I should add that I am 5"3 and thin but curvy so usually something more tailored/fitted looks better on me.

I love the idea of something between a blazer and a cardigan. I have something from Rag and bone that’s a blazer cut but it’s a knit instead of a woven. It’s kind of the best of both worlds. I think jcrew did something so last year. I’m on my phone know so it’s hard to add the finds. Definitely try olive.

I think a camel blazer is very versatile. It’s nice to have a light blazer and a dark blazer (you have navy). You can do a blazer with some stretch for comfort. I have something like the link below from Theory, in stretch cotton. Their blazers are cut slimmer and more “modern”. We have similarities-early 40s, classic leaning, deep autumn.

The J Crew Regent blazer is my go-to for a similar piece, and they make it in camel and petite sizes. I find that the popped collar is professional, but a little more casual than a normal lapel. (Just make sure you remind your dry cleaner not to turn it down when pressed!)

I'm really a super fan: I just realized I have it in five different fabrications ranging from chambray to tweed, including the camel.

Big thumbs up for an olive or rust blazer, or a shade of camel or brown that flatters you.. A brown and cream plaid might be fun.

Yes those colors would work well! I'm a DA too and like burgundy as a neutral too. Dark green and teal are really good too. I like black more than navy, but pair it with warm colors or in summer with a lot of skin showing. Matte/textured black works better than shiny.
