venting about zara

My black brocade pants, which I have worn all of four times (and washed twice) are starting to pill! I don't expect the best quality from Zara, but this is ridiculous. Aaargh!

Gah. Too bad. Angie has said that quality for Zara is very hit-or-miss. I hope the trousers didn't cost too much.

Oh! I can rant with you. My grey patterned floral blazer pictured below - which I LOVE - has fallen apart and torn everywhere because the seams have slipped and they never overlocked the seams to start off with. And it's a fully lined blazer. Infuriating. I've worn it maybe 8 times.

But I still love Zara and shop there. Their quality is not all bad. It's just *very* inconsistent. I have blouses from Zara that are 7 years old and still going strong.

I have never bought from Zara as there are none close, but I have heard the same thing. Quality is very hit or miss. Hopefully they were inexpensive!

Sorry to hear about the quality issues. I like Zara's clothing (and Ann Taylor Loft's) but rarely shop at either store because I haven't had lots of luck with their quality.

Thanks for your sympathies! Whitney, there aren't a lot of Zara stores in the US but they are great for online shopping. I will continue to buy stuff from them even though I'm annoyed about these pants.

Oh, gah. I do not have many items from Zara because, although I like a lot of their styles, the quality does not seem commensurate with the price to me. I don't think it's really any better quality than H&M but the prices are around twice as high.

Angie, I'm so sad about your blazer! I remember when you bought it. Have you tried the Bellatrix lace print one at Nordie's? It might be a good substitute... I tried it on when I was in CA and was pleasantly surprised. I might order it. It looks a lot better IRL than it does on the model photos online. (But it might be too short for your taste.)

Totally sympathizing with you here. My only Zara piece, camo harem pants, are starting to come apart at various seams after a handful of wearing.

my camo harem pants have started to pull apart at the seams, and they are baggy on me! The fabric is slippery and should have been overlocked or had trim put on it to prevent disintegration. FIE on poor quality - it's not like they were cheap!

Wow, that's a bummer! I hate it when garments show wear and tear after only a few wearings.

You are right, Diana. I want a more tuxedo looking blazer so the lace printed Bellatrix isn't quite right. But thanks for the suggestion. I bet it looks just great on you!

I have a lot of problems with their clothes too! The cardigan look old after wearing them for about 8 times, I had 2 blouse that shreded after 2 wears!

Sorry about this, I can only imagine the frustration! I am one of those people that Zara never grew on, a few things I bought in the past and were total misses had put me off. My sister, on the other hand, adores the store and can always find something.

But Angie's story about the blazer and seams not even being overlocked - that is just nasty IMHO.

That's too bad! I hope they weren't too expensive. My black workhorse skirt is from Zara and it's still great after getting a lot of wear (although I had to close seams twice in the beginning). But I haven't found anything there since. I always feel like most of their clothing is falling apart when I just look too closely.

In contrast, my cheapo Express pants - one of my first YLF purchases - have been worn at least once a week for the last year and still look new. Hmmm.

Same blazer as Angie, exactly the same story. AND - it happened durinf work, which was qiuite embarrassing...

On the other hand I love Zara´s style and have top quality pieces that go strong for many years....
