Outfit #1 is a short, straight cord skirt with a bluesy paisley pattern, navy tights, black T-neck bodysuit, black velvet Henley, cape/vest similar colors as the skirt, but big floral pattern, and congnac oxfords.
Outfit #2 is the velvet top with (long sleeved body suit underneath,) jeans, red suede ankle boots, and green suede bag with guitar strap. I could’ve popped the vest over, but temps were in the mid-60s! The original green strap that came with the purse was only long enough to carry it as a tote, not cross-body. I recently found some leather in the right green and took it to a leather-worker to have a new strap made. At the price of €150 I think I can keep the old one a bit longer!
RL, Bijoux and Nemo, I have worn this skirt with my gold ankle boots, but I’ve worn them a lot lately so my feet wanted something different. I did think my legs looked longer this way.
Thanks Cardiff!
Suz, Angie & Joy, I’m beginning to think this cape is appropriate for all kinds of shopping and all kinds of anything. As I contemplated putting it on this morning, I realized that it is a good marker for how I want clothes I’m buying to feel. Wearing it is an event—a fun one. Maybe that’s a bit how Angie feels walking into her closet every morning—when I read that blog post I couldn’t relate, but if I think of having a closet full of things that are as “me”, I can. I wasn’t planning on getting any clothing the day I bought it, but there it was! The turtleneck is my bodysuit that day, not part of the velvet top.
Next time I wear this outfit, I’ll have to get better pix of the pattern mix.
